Later that evening Om came to his apartment, and packed his bag.
He knocked on Gauri's door.
O: Gauri, chalo we are late.
G: Ha, coming.
Saying this Gauri opened the door. She was wearing a cute sweater and held a coat in her hands and was trying hard to take her bag out of her door. Om took the bag from her hand and they walked to the lift.
After getting down,
G: How are we going?
O: See.
Om pointed in front of them. A big car was standing there.
O: We will reach there by morning; we can even sleep in this car quite comfortably.
Gauri was surprised to see this big car. They both sat in it, talked for a lot of time but eventually slept.
Christmas Eve Morning:
Gauri woke up to see that her head was on Om's shoulder, she tried to move but that woke up Om. They were so close to each other that they could see directly into each other's eyes.
Driver: Sir, we are here.
The driver's announcement broke their "Oh so perfect" eye lock and they got down.
"Perfect timing." Om thought making a face. Which Gauri saw and just chuckled.
They took their luggage and a servant came from inside, greeted Om and Gauri, and took their bags.
Gauri was mesmerized by the view. The big house that was in front of her. It was a big mansion; with the name Oberoi Mansion written on it's top; it had a beautiful lawn in front of it. The premises were decorated on account of Christmas.
"Come, let's go." Om said getting her back to earth from her thoughts.
Om showed the way in, the massive doors open and lead to a big living area which was decorated with a huge chandelier. There were sitting arrangements and the house looked like a modern palace.
"Gauri!!! You are here!" came Anika from behind, hugging Gauri.
"Anika di! Hi!" Gauri said hugging her back.
Anika welcomed her and Om and called everyone.
An old lady wearing traditional Patiala came in the hall. She seemed to be chanting something.
"Dadi?" Gauri asked Om in a low voice admiring the old lady.
Om just nodded and quickly went and hugged her tight.
"How are you puttar?" Dadi asked Om while he touched her feet.
"I am good dadi," Om replied with a big smile.
"Go, and don't forget to touch her feet," Anika whispered to Gauri.
Gauri obeyed and went near dadi.
"Namaste dadi," she said folding her hands and bending to touch her feet.
Dadi quickly moved behind, not allowing her to touch her feet.
{In Indian culture if someone moves behind while touching their feet, it is taken as an insult.}
But Gauri didn't feel insulted, instead just bad.
"Khotya, what kind of friend do you have?" Dadi said making Gauri stand straight as she hit Om on his shoulder.
While Gauri stood dumbstruck, Anika and Om started laughing. Gauri looked at Om in surprise.
"Why the hell is he laughing? Idiot!" Gauri made a quick mental argument, but cuteness of Om laughing took the better of her anger.
