One month. One month had passed since Omkara left with the whole 'second chance' deal. Today, I was supposed to fly to Oberoi Mansion for the wedding. This was going to be a long trip.
"Are you sure you're okay with all this?" Lucas asked me one more time.
"That would be the...8th no 10th time you have asked me that. It's my best friend's wedding! I'm going to enjoy it!" I assured him for the 10th time.
"But..." I knew what he was going to say so I did it for him.
"But, Gauri. He's gonna be there. You can always call up Priyanka and talk to her. I'm sure she'll understand. We don't have to go if you're uncomfortable." I said imitating his deeper voice.
He chuckled, "I don't talk like that."
"Yes you do." I fired back.
"Anyways, I'm sure and I don't want to miss this wedding." I told him.
"Fine. Just take care." He was worried.
"I will." I replied with a smile.
After checking every little detail, Lucas drove me to the airport. I was going to Oberoi Mansion. Honestly, I miss every single member of the Oberoi clan. They love me and I love them all very much too. Well, except one creature. I bid my goodbyes to Lucas and Caroline one last time again and went inside the airport.
"Yes, I just landed." I informed Priyanka on the phone.
"Great, now wait there." She instructed.
What? Why?
"Why?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows in utter confusion.
"Because, dummy. I've sent a car for you. It will pick you up any second now." She told me.
"It wasn't needed. There's like a humongous number of cabs here. I'll just take one." I said smiling.
"Shut up and wait for the car, dummy." She argued.
"Thank you. Although I do not appreciate you calling me dummy." I informed her knowing she would be ready with another comeback.
"I know you hate being called dummy which gives me the sole purpose of calling you dummy; dummy." She explained and I chuckled at her stubbornness.
"Fine. I'll meet you soon." I said as we hung up.
After about five minutes of waiting the car picked me up and drove me to Oberoi mansion.
Oberoi Mansion.
Just like I had remembered it. It still had that beautiful charm and the lawn. Nothing much had changed since last I came here years ago for Christmas along with Omkara.
I realised I was smiling very much as I entered the house. The house was being decorated for the ceremonies and the whole place just emitted positivity.
Now that's what feels like home.
Although Omkara's and mine relationship, or whatever that was going on between us three years back, was ruined, this family meant much more.
"Bitch! You are here!" Priyanka squealed and spun me around like a damn carousel.
"Alright! I'm getting giddy now." I said, wanting to stop.
"Oh shut up! I'm so happy you're here!" She squealed again.
"Where's James and James junior?" She asked looking behind me as she saw no signs of Lucas or Caroline.
