(Child Fundy? Child Fundy.)

To make a long story short, L'Manburg didn't surrender. They were officially at war. Though there had been no fighting yet, everyone was still uneasy. The thought of fighting and possibly dying for their country was more than a little unsettling.

One quiet afternoon, not long after Dream (or "The green bastard", as Tommy and Nessa had started calling him) had declared war, Wilbur approached Nessa as she was sitting on the ground. "She looked up as he approached and saluted playfully. "General Soot, sir." she said, grinning.

Wilbur smiled back. "Hey Nessa! I have a small request for you." Nessa nodded. "What is it?" she asked. "Well, you're not really going to like this, but could you watch Fundy for a few hours? I have to go out collecting resources."

Nessa shook her head, causing her tricorn hat to fall off. "No way." she said as she picked up her hat and put it back on/ "You know I don't like kids. Couldn't you ask someone else?" This time Wilbur shook his head. "Tubbo and Eret are coming with me, and would you really trust Tommy with a child?"

Nessa looked desperate. "Wilbur, I'm terrible with kids. What do I even do?" Wilbur smiled reassuringly. "You'll figure it out." And with that, he walked off. Nessa shook her head and grumbled to herself. She had no idea how to take care of a child, even for a few hours! Besides, she HATED small children.

She walked down the path to Wilbur's house. When she got there, she knocked on the door. Fundy opened the door and peered out. "You're Nessa, right? Dad said you were going to watch me." Nessa nodded, and the young fox hybrid opened the door wider. Nessa walked inside and sat down at the table.

Fundy looked at her for a second and then said "You're a hybrid like me!" Nessa wrapped her tail around her legs self consciously, but she nodded. "I suppose I am." Fundy tilted his head. "You only have a tail though, and I have a tail and ears. So I guess we're different." He sat down at the table across from Nessa. "I'm hungry." he announced. Sighing, Nessa got up to cut up an apple.

While she was cutting up the apple, Fundy said "Dad says that you're my aunt. Is he right?" Nessa thought for a second. "Well, we're not biologically related, but yes, I am your aunt." Fundy looked confused. "Wait, you're not actually related to me?" Nessa shook her head and handed him the plate of apple slices.. "Nope. Neither is your Uncle Tubbo. Tommy and Tubbo found me in the woods, and then Dadza, your grandfather, adopted me."

Fundy nodded and ate an apple slice. "Do you remember any stories about my dad when he was younger?" he asked. Nessa grinned mischievously. "Oh, I think I have a few..."

{TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY TUBBO'S BEES}

Two hours and multiple stories about Wilbur being a bad influence later, Fundy yawned. Nessa looked outside and saw that it had gotten dark. "You should probably go to bed soon." she told the child. Fundy nodded and ran off to get ready for bed. That kid's okay, Nessa thought, surprised that she had made it so long in the same room as a child without losing her temper.

Half an hour later, Fundy came back out, wearing his pajamas. "I'm ready for bed!" he said. Nessa got up and followed him into his room. She tucked him in and smiled. "Goodnight." she said, beginning to walk out of the room to go wait for Wilbur to come home. But before she made it all the way out the door, she heard Fundy say "Wait."

Nessa inhaled sharply and turned back to face him. "What is it?" she asked. "It's just that..." he said, "When Dad's here, he usually sings to me to help me fall asleep." Nessa sighed and sat down in a chair that was in the corner of the room. She began to sing softly.

Dear little Fundy, what to say to you?

You have his eyes, you have your father's mind

When you came into our land, you cried

And it broke our hearts

We're dedicating every day to you

Domestic life was never quite our style

When you smile, you knock us out, we fall apart

And I thought we were so smart

You will come of age with our young nation

We'll bleed and fight for you

We'll make it right for you

If we lay a strong enough foundation

We'll pass it on to you, we'll give the world to you

And you'll blow us all away

Someday, someday

Yeah, you'll blow us all away

Someday, someday

When Nessa finished the song, she looked over and saw that Fundy had fallen asleep. She smiled softly and went back out to the main room to wait for her brother.
