Nessa woke with a start. She looked around, trying to remember why she was in Church Prime. Then it all came flooding back. Fundy burning the flag. Schlatt congratulating him. A new era. Nessa sighed and looked out the window. Judging from the amount of light, it was probably early evening. Gosh, had she really slept that long? Eh, she was part cat. Cats could do stuff like that.

As she sighed, Nessa saw a figure outside. Filling with fear, she hid behind one of the seats in Church prime. Why were they here? Was it someone who worked for Schlatt? The figure entered, and Nessa tried to get a better look at them. They wore a hooded cloak, so she couldn't get a good look at their face. But she thought she could glimpse red clothes under the cloak.

The figure spoke quietly. "Nessa?" they called. "Are you here?" The voice sounded familiar, but Nessa couldn't quite place it. She stepped out from her hiding place, drawing her sword. "I'm not going back to Manberg." she said menacingly. The figure turned around and spotted her. "That's not why I'm here." the person said. Why the hell does their voice sound so familiar? wondered Nessa.

The figure went on. "I'm not working for Manberg, but we should get out of here before someone who is working for them comes." They started to move towards the door, but Nessa stood her ground. "How do I know I can trust you?" she asked, tightening her grip on her sword. The figure sighed. "You don't. But I promise, I'm trying to help. Now, are you gonna keep being annoying, or are you coming?"

Nessa hesitantly followed them out of the church. "If you betray me, they're never gonna find your fucking body." she warned. The figure didn't respond. The two walked in silence for a while before Manberg came into view. Nessa froze, and her eyes widened in fear. "You said you weren't working for Schlatt!" she cried.

The figure sighed in exasperation. "I'm not. I'm going to steal horses so that we can get where we're going faster." Nessa nodded as the figure turned in the direction of Manberg. "Wait here." They ran off, leaving Nessa to wait.

She let her mind wander to pass the time. Who was this new person? They seemed so familiar, but Nessa couldn't figure out who they reminded her of. After about 15 minutes of waiting and theorizing about the person's identity, the person returned. They were leading 2 horses. One of them Nessa vaguely recognized, and the other...

Nessa ran forward to take the horse. "You stole my favorite horse! How did you know he was mine?" The figure shrugged. "I saw that you painted his stall a bunch of different colors. Only you would do that. Now come on, before the authorities catch us and arrest us for stealing horses." Nessa grinned and mounted the horse. "I'm still not completely sure I trust you, random person who seems to know everything about me. But you lead the way to wherever the hell we're going." The stranger nodded and mounted their horse.

The two rode for a while until they reached a hill near the edge of a cliff. "We're here." the figure said as they dismounted their horse. Nessa did the same and left her horse to graze in the field of grass. She walked over to the hill and saw a door in the side of it, which immediately gave her PTSD because of the 'Eret incident'. But the figure went through the door and motioned for her to follow.

They walked through a hallway with dirt walls until it came to an end. When she saw what was at the end of the hallway, Nessa gasped. The hall opened out into a large ravine. Torches lined the walls, and wood platforms had been put up at different levels. The ravine had an almost enclosed top, and a small stream trickled along the bottom.

As Nessa looked around, she saw a person walking towards the staircase. "Did you find her?" they called. Nessa stopped and stared. It looked like... But it couldn't be...

"Wilbur?" she asked quietly, barely daring to speak. The person looked up at her, and it was Wilbur. Nessa cried out with joy and ran down the staircase into her older brother's arms, embracing him in a hug. "I've missed you so much!" she said happily. Wilbur smiled at her. "I've missed you too."

He looked back over his shoulder. "Tommy!" he called. "He found her!" "Tommy's here too?" Nessa asked. Wilbur nodded. "We both came here after we got kicked out by Schlatt." he explained. Tommy walked into the room, and his jaw dropped when he saw Nessa. The cat hybrid smiled and waved awkwardly, and without even responding, Tommy ran over and hugged his sister. "You're here!" he exclaimed. Nessa laughed. "I've missed you too, bitch boy."
