Lore used to be so much less organized...

Nessa, Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Jack Manifold, and Fundy were all making their way to the courthouse. Wilbur and Tommy were going to be arguing in the presidential debate, Tubbo was going to be a standby judge in case something "happened" to the other judge, Nessa and Fundy were there for support, and Jack... Well, no one really knew why Jack was there. But he was there nonetheless.

Everyone had decided to wear their L'Manburg revolutionary uniforms, because patrioticalness. [What's the right word for that? Someone please tell me.] Nessa fixed her hat as the five approached the courthouse. "It's been so long since I've worn this damn thing." she said, half to herself.

When they arrived, they saw that SWAG2020 was already there, along with Karl Jacobs. Karl was a relatively new member of L'Manburg, and he had volunteered to be the judge for the debate, even though everyone knew that he was sided with SWAG2020. Nessa, Tubbo, and Jack took their seats behind the podium where Tommy and Wilbur would speak, while Fundy stood off to the side.

Wilbur dragged Tommy into a little room on the side of the courthouse to discuss their arguments before the debate. We needn't go into details, but let's just say that chaos broke loose. Finally, Wilbur and Tommy returned. "Are you feeling okay?" Tubbo called to them. "You touched the door." Tommy looked confused. "What's wrong with the door?" he asked. Tubbo shrugged. "Neurotoxins." Nessa facepalmed. "Not even two minutes in, and this is already going terribly..." she muttered.

Finally, the debate began. Karl stood in front of the courthouse. "Okay. The presidential debate of L'manburg has now begun. First topic of debate: People allowed in L'Manburg. Quackity, you may speak first." Quackity stepped forward and cleared his throat.

"For many years, L'Manburg has been a place of much discrimination. The people there are extremely biased against people who were not an original part of the country. Specifically, Americans. Some americans are denied access, and even those who are granted entry face discrimination. If I were the president of the nation, I would open the gates to everyone, regardless of where they came from!"

This caused a ruckus among the people on POG2020's side. Nessa clenched her fists. She had fought and died for freedom from Americans, and SWAG2020 was just going to throw that all out a window! Karl nodded and turned to Wilbur. "POG2020, what's your opinion?" Wilbur took a small step forward.

"L'manburg is a nation that was founded to allow Europeans to escape from the American ruled Greater SMP. If SWAG2020 put their new policies into action, it would tear down everything we fought for in the War For Independence! If I remain president, the borders will remain closed to all non-Europeans."

Quackity looked up at Karl. "Your honor, can I respond to this?" Karl shrugged. "You know what? Let's open up the floor. Quackity, go ahead." [Looking back in retrospect, this may have been the worst decision that Karl ever made.] Quackity smirked. "POG2020 is following old and outdated traditions. If they kept their policies in place, that would restrict L'Manburg's future."

Tommy started inaudibly shouting, and Nessa had to pull him back before he started stabbin' shit. "These 'outdated rules' that you talk about were fought and bled for by the original citizens not long ago." Wilbur said, sounding enraged. "Have you forgotten that?"

"No, I haven't forgotten." responded Quackity. "But that's exactly my point. These rules were born from bloodshed. With a new time of peace should come new rules." Wilbur crossed his arms. "We stand by our original policies."

Karl stepped forward. "I think that's enough about people allowed in L'Manburg.." He looked down at his podium. "Huh." he said. "I should have come up with more debate topics." He thought for a minute, and then he spoke again. "There have been a lot of pet killings on the server recently. POG2020, what's your opinion on thi-''

Before he could finish, he was cut off by everyone's favorite swearing child. "Wait, Fundy!" he shouted across the room. "Why are you standing with SWAG2020?" Wilbur looked over at his son. "Yeah, and why aren't you wearing your L'manburg uniform?" Fundy looked uncomfortable. "Sorry Dad, but I like SWAG's policies."

Inaudible yelling broke out from both sides. Karl slammed his hand down on his desk repeatedly. "ORDER IN THE COURT!!!" he shouted. Everyone stopped and looked up at him, and he spoke in a tired and exasperated tone. "Could we get back to the topic of pet killings please?"

(Why can't real politics be this entertaining?)
