The night sky fell over the reign of Kanto as the wild pokemon went into their cycle of sleeping. The moon shined bright as the nightly breeze shook the trees, letting the leaves dance in the dark sky. Dawn looked out into the sea as she watched the waves hit the cliffs, having water droplets glitter the dark empty night. She sighed listening to the calm music from the locals, having tins of street performances.
"What am I going to do?" She asked herself as she turned around to see her pokemon, sleeping peacefully on her bed. She smiled as she thought of the Kanto boy who made it possible for her. She smacked her head as she drooped over the railing of the balcony. She didn't want these feelings anymore, though it chooses to stay. She groaned as she tucked her head into her arms, moaning once more. "I was totally fine without these feelings before. Why me? Why now?" The thoughts of him made her heart race more and more, making start packing her stuff and quietly walking out of her room. She made her way to the exit of the Pokemon Center when all of a sudden...
"Can't sleep?" She turned around and saw a certain electric type gym leader, standing right in front of her in his pjs. Dawn let out a fake smile as she chuckled at herself, rubbing the back of her head.
"Well," she said, not trying to make eye contact with the gym leader. "You can say that." Clemont analyzed her and grinned as he watched Dawn slowly back away to the door. He sighed as he made his way to the girl, giving her a worried look.
"What's wrong?" he said as he laid a hand on her shoulder. She let out a sour grin as she tried to think of an excuse. She then looked up to see Clemonts calm eyes, making her heart beat faster. She quickly looked down at her feet and opened her mouth, trying to speak, but nothing came out.
"I-I," she stuttered, continuing to look down at their feet. "I was about to go for a night walk..."
"Really?" Clemont asked, making Dawn nod. "I suspect that you are heading back into the mainland then, since you have all your stuff packed." He said as he pointed at her backpack and her sleeping Piplup. She sighed as she dropped all of her things, causing her sleeping pokemon to wake up in pain.
"What am I doing?" she asked herself as she closed her eyes and clenched her hair, almost pulling it out. "I can't take this anymore..." she stopped as she felt someone grab her by the shoulders. She slowly opened her eyes, letting tears down her cheeks as she stared at Clemont's lively eyes."You can tell me anything," he said as he put a small smile, causing the girl to reveal a tint of pink on her cheeks.
"So you were heading back to participate in the contests tomorrow?" Clemont asked as they sat down on a nearby couch. Dawn nodded as she stroked Piplup's head.
"Yah," she said. "That was the plan..."
"But you do know that you don't have to sneak out in the middle of the night and not tell us." he said as he watched the girl take care of her pokemon. "We would have gotten worried if you left suddenly. Especially Bonnie."
"Bonnie would or you would?" Dawn asks with a smirk making Clemont blush a little.
"Stop changing the topic," Clemont said. He put a hand on one of her shoulders, "We would be worried about you though."
"Well, I won't leave right now then," Dawn said as she got up from her spot as she carried her pokemon in her arms. "I'll tell Bonnie about the contest." Clemont smiled and gave Dawn a hug, making her blush once more.
"We should get to bed," Clemont said. He got up his seat and smiled at the girl, who still had a blush on her face. Dawn made her way to the hallway where the rooms are. She turned around and noticed that the gym leader was still standing there. She looked at him with a worried look."You ok?" she asked.
"Oh yah," Clemont responded instantly. He then walked back into his room, leaving Dawn standing there. She thought about the Kalos boy and clenched her hand near her heart. Her feelings for Ash still remained in her heart, but something new was rising slowly. She smiled at the thought of Clemont in her mind, but her heart pounded when the thought of Ash. Her heart ached as the thought of the two boys came into her mind. Why? She questioned her thoughts as she walked back into her room. It always has to be me.
"You guys ready for my first gym battle?" asked Bonnie as she groomed Dedenne's fur. She watched as she saw her brother and Dawn walked out of the hallway together. She smiled as the two older kids made her way to her.
"You ready Bonnie?" Clemont asked as he put his backpack on. Bonnie nodded and turned towards Dawn.
"You ready Dawn?" Bonnie asked, continuing to smile. Clemont looked over to the Sinnoh girl with a worried look.
"Yep," Dawn said, returning with a smile. "Let's go to the gym."

Hey guy, Brandon here. I hope you guys are enjoying the series so far. I really appreciate the support and hope you all stay safe during these tough times. One thing, I was wondering what character would you want me to add or should I make up some character of my own. Some people like new characters but some don't like characters that aren't part of the Pokemon anime. If you have any questions, you can ask me and I'll try to respond to all of your comments.
[Insert questions here]
Anyways, thank you again for all the support on the book. Yah this chapter was pretty short, but it will be all worth it in the next few. Again, hope you all stay safe during these rough times. Stay safe and wear your seat belt.
