Thunder lit up the sky as rain poured onto the land below, causing the trainers to run frantically through the drenched mud and dripping trees. Dawn scowled as her hair became wetter by the minute as she followed Serena and Ash in front of her. Pikachu held tightly on his trainer's shoulder as he dodge the incoming tree branches.

"We should be there soon," Serena yelled loudly so the others could hear, wiping the water droplets off her tablet.

"Over there!" Ash yelled, pointing to a light at the end of the pathway. "There's the Pokemon Center!" Quickly, the group of trainers rushed towards the center as dirt and mud covered the shoes as they tracked through the forest. The bright pokeball-like sign illuminated their eyes as they ran closer to the building. The doors shot wide open as the group walked inside, leaving a trail of mud behind.

"Uhh," May groaned as she took off her bandana, trying to squeeze the water out. "Can't believe it rained tonight. Of all nights, it had to be tonight."

"You can say that again," Clemont said as he sat on the couch. "Man, my inventions, they're all soaked..."

"Hello, are you guys ok," Nurse Joy asked as she walked towards the group.

"Besides our clothes being a bit damp, I think we're all good," Ash replied as a smile was plastered onto his face. "But can we have two rooms tonight please, sorry about the abrupt arrival."

"No worries," Nurse Joy said as she gestured towards her desk, grabbing two keys. "If you want, there is a wash and dryer here."

"Thank you so much," Ash said as he grabbed the keys and returned to the group. He then handed Serena a key and pointed towards the hallway. "There should be a laundry room over there. If you want, I can do the laundry for you if you want." Serena blushed as her face was filled with shock.

"Umm," Serena said as she took the key. "Thanks, but I can do it hehehe," she said. He looked at her, confused, but then realized what she thought of.

"Oh Arceus, my bad," Ash said in embarrassment, waving his arms in his air. Bonnie watched as the young couple became flustered by the second, making the tween-age girl giggle.

"Thanks dude, you're a lifesaver," Dawn said as she handed her a bag full of her dirty clothes.

"Yah man, thanks," May added as she handed the boy another bag of laundry, smirking.

"Don't worry Ash," Serena said as she put a hand on his shoulder. " Can help you." Ash smiled and the couple made their way down the hall, leaving the rest behind.

"I'm so bored," Bonnie said as she stared out the window. The sun was finally up, yet the rain kept pouring, making the girl sigh with a hint of annoyance. "I want to challenge the Vermillion City Gym." Dawn looked at her pokenav as she scrolled through her notifications, reading through all the recent events.

"I'm with you on that one," she said as she looked up from the screen to see the moping child. Then they heard a long yawn and turned their attention to the half asleep boy walking down the hallway. His hair looked like the back of a Sandslash and his glasses were crooked. He yawned once more as his feet dragged along the cold floor, making his way to the girls.

"You girls slept ok?" Clemont asked the two of them.

"Yah, what about you?"

"I forgot how loud Ash snores at night," Clemont replied as he yawned once more. He turned his head to the window as raindrops drizzled down the cold glass. "Raining all night?" They both nodded. Clemont sat down besides his sister and looked over towards Dawn.

"Are you ready for your Contest?" Clemont asked the Sinnoh trainer.

"I don't know," Dawn said as she put her navigator away. She stared out the window and sighed. "Remember our talk..."

"What talk?"

"When we were walking to the Cinnabar Gym." Clemont thought about it for a minute before nodding to the girl.

"What talk?" Bonnie asked as she went between the two teens. Clemont looked at his sister and smiled.

"Hey Bonnie, I think you should wake the others up," Clemont said. Bonnie puckered her face in annoyance, but agreed and went off to the hallway. "Yah, I remember. What about it?"

"Do you think I should continue on?" Dawn asked the gym leader. Shocked, Clemont sat there speechless. He coughed and let out a half chuckle.

"Umm, what do you mean?" Clemont asked the girl. She cringed and sat up quickly.

"You know, never mind, it's nothing important," Dawn said as she started to walk away.

"You want to talk about it?" Clemont asked. She then stopped and wiped her eyes, quickly before turning to face the gym leader.

"I'm alright," Dawn replied as she put a fake smile on her face. Clemont raised his eyebrow, then closed his eyes.

"You know, Ash wouldn't want you too..."

"Stop!" Dawn yelled, causing the Kalos boy to flinch. "Stop talking about him. It's always Ash him, or Ash that. I just want him to get out of my head." She put her hands on her head as she crouched down to the floor. Her tears started flowing down like a river in a storm. Clemont stared at the girl as she broke down in front of the boy.

"You're still in love with him, aren't you?" Dawn widened her eyes and looked up to the blonde boy as he let out a sympathetic smile.

"Is it obvious..." She said, sniffing. Clemont shook his head as she smirked at the girl.

"What am I going to do with you?" Clemont said as he continued to smile at the Sinnoh trainer.

"Wha...?" Dawn asked, but was quickly interrupted. Shocked, she felt the warmth of the boy's arms wrapped around her almost broken heart. Just then, a spark of hope bursted out into a flame, warming up her cheeks. She then closed her eyes and smiled as she returned the hug, making her happy for the rest of the morning. It didn't take long before the rain had stopped that morning, having the two trainers watch the rainbow as it soared across the land.

"There you two are," May said as she walked outside the building. "We've been looking for you this whole time."

"Well, we've been waiting for you guys to get your butts out of bed," Dawn said as she turned to face her best friends, causing the boy to laugh. May's cheeks turned red and puckered her face, giving the two glaring eyes.

"You can't blame me," May huffed out. "I had one of the best sleeps in a while." Dawn laughed as she watched her Hoen friend pout. "Well, get inside. Everyone is waiting for you guys," May said as she started making her way back inside.

"You wanna tell them?" Clemont asked Dawn as he gave her a soft smile. She turned her head and looked at the boy with a simper.

"Nah," she said as she stood up from her seat. "Let's take it slow, and when the time comes, we can tell them."

"Alright," the gym leader said as he stood up. "You're the boss." And the two of them held hands as they walked into their new destiny.
