Chapter 16: Collision

 He sat in his chair as he looked at the screen, showing the van, tumbling off the road and onto its side. He slammed his fist on the arm of the chair as he saw the doors of the vehicle slam open.

"Just great," Giovanni said as he shut off the screen, having the room turn into pure darkness for a few seconds before the lights turned back on. He pets the head of his Pursian as he turns his chair to the door. He then eyed one of the grunts near the door and said, "Let them in."

"Yes sir," the grunts said as they opened the door, letting the trio into the office.

"Sir," Jessie said as the trio kneeled to the boss, bowing their heads in the process. "We need more time-"

"You keep saying the same thing," Giovanni said as he got up from his chair and walked around his desk. He gave them a devilish glare as he sighed, turning his back to the trio and looked at the papers, scattered on the desk. He picked a piece of paper and took a good look at it, analyzing it, then placing it back onto the desk. "So," he started, shivers going down the trio's back. "Have you been chasing the same Pikachu this whole time?"

"Well, it's a powerful Pikachu," Meowth said, but was stopped by James, putting a hand over the cat's mouth. The boss glared at his grunts as sat back down in his seat.

"I'm assigning you to another task," he said. "And I hope you won't disappoint me again."

"Yes sir," James said as he stood up, much like a military personnel.

"I want you to keep an eye on this boy right here," he said as a picture of Ash was shot up on the big screen. Both Jessie and James gulped. "I want you to make sure that he won't get in my way again. Got it?"

"But what about capturing Mew?" Jessie asked her boss. Giovanni scolded as he turned his back to the trio.

"I already have someone on it," he said with a hint of devilishness in his voice. "You may leave now."

"Aaaaaachooooo," Ash sneezed, making the Kalos girl grossed out.

"You ok Ash?" Serena asked him. Ash nodded as Pikachu gave him a handkerchief.

"Yah, I'm fine," he said as he blew his nose.

"You know," Goh said as she put an arm around his Kanto friend. "Someone could be talking about you."

"I doubt that," Ash replied, making both Serena and Goh chuckle.

"Who knows, maybe they are." Ash rolled his eyes and the group continued to walk through the path. Ash smiled as he looked ahead of the path to see Bonnie and Dawn playing, more like chasing each other. Clemont chuckled as he watched his little being chased by the Sinnoh coordinator.

"Bonnie and Dawn have been getting along quite well, don't you think?" Clemont looked over to see Serena, giving him a cheerful smile.

"Yah, you can say that." Serena smirked as she pointed at the inventor's cheeks.

"You're blushing," she said, making the Kalos gym leader blush even redder. "Do you like Dawn?"

"I, umm." Clemont stuttered, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. Serena continued to smile as she patted the inventor's shoulder.

"You should go ask her out," Serena said, making Clemont blush even harder.

"Maybe you should go ask your boyfriend," Clemont said nonchalantly, giving the Kalos girl the same medicine. Serena blushed a deep red as she tried to hide her face with her hands.

"It's not like that though," she said as she revealed her face once more. "I don't know if he likes me back." She lied. Clemont raised his eyebrow as she looked at the girl stumbling on her words, trying to convince him that she had no feelings for the Kanto boy. Clemont sighed as he put a hand on the girl's shoulder.
