Pidgeot flew across the forest as his wings soared through the ever lasting sky. Gary grinned as the giant bird landed on nearby trees, letting a defeated sigh.

"No sign of him?" Ash asked as he hopped off his Dragonite. Gary shook his head, making the Kanto boy let out a sigh. The two boys then returned their pokemon back into their pokeballs and went back to the camp they had set up earlier.

"You guys are back already?" Drew asked as he looked up towards the Kanto boys. Serena grinned as she saw the two Kanto boys sit down by the firepit with sadness on their faces.

"Why do we need to find this Mankey anyway?" Goh asked, grabbing Ash's attention.

"We don't leave our friends behind," Ash said as he turned his head, giving a quick glance to Lillie, making the Alolan girl smile. Ash then turned back to Goh. "But there was a voice in my head that told me to protect it with my life." Just then, Gary's Rotom-phone buzzed, causing him to get up from his seat and take the call, walking away from his friends.

"Hello?" Gary asked as the screen lit up, showing a girl with blue hair on the other side of the screen.

"Where have you been?" the girl asked in a questioning tone, glaring at the boy through the phone. Gary let out a faithful grin and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Sorry," the Kanto boy said as he looked back at his screen. "I was just helping a couple of my friends out trying to find their missing pokemon. That's all." The girl puffed her face, pouting to the boy as she sighed.

"Well, at least contact us once in a while, ok? You made us worried." Gary smiled.

"Yah, sorry again," he said with a smile. The girl looked back at the boy and let out another sour-full sigh.

"Well, have you started your search for Mew?" the girl asked. Gary thought about it for a bit, but then let out a depressing sigh, making the girl tensed up with anger. "At least you record some data about some places Mew could be hiding from?" The boy shook his head and steam flowed out of the girl's hot head.

"Asashi," a voice was heard from in the background. "Where almost here."

"Ok," she said, turning away from the screen for a split second until returning her attention to the boy on the other side of the device. "Please, make sure you record your findings so we can analyze them together." Gary chuckled as he put his hand up to the screen, putting a thumbs up on display.

"You can count on me," Gary said as he let out a smirk.

"Can I really though?" Asashi asked the boy before disappearing into a faded black screen on Gary's phone. He sighed as he remembered what his true mission was. He wanted to become the first person to find the mysterious pokemon, but found himself looking for a totally different pokemon instead. He sighed once more, returning back to his friends.

"Hey Gary," Ash said as he grabbed his friend's attention. "Who were you talking to?"

"Oh, that was your girlfriend who missed me so much, that went out of the way to call me," Gary said as he smirked to his formal rival, who turned beet red for a minute, until he returned back to reality.

"I think we should head back then," Goh said as he put an arm around Ash's shoulders. "You don't want to leave your girl alone so someone can steal her from you." Lillie giggled as she watched her classmate turn red, causing the boy to hide himself by putting his partner in front of his face in embarrassment.

Night fell once again and the Pokemon Center fell even silent then before. Dawn sat at the couch as she looked at her bright screen, scrolling through the photo's she had taken from her recent journeys. Her eyes finally landed on an image of her and Ash playing in the water together with their pokemon. Her expression changed as she continued to look at the picture of her best friend.

"Why can't this stupid crush go away?" Dawn asked herself as she looked at the boy in the photo. A tear slowly drizzled down her cheek as she continued to look at the boy. She wanted to move on, but for some reason, she couldn't.

"You ok?" Within seconds, she quickly turned off her phone and threw it into her pocket as she turned around to see a Kanto trainer behind her.

"Ash?" The boy smiled at the girl and decided to sit down next to the girl. "Why are you still up?"

"I can ask you the same question," Ash replied. Dawn then looked down to her feet, avoiding eye contact from the boy. "Are you ok Dawn?"

"Yah," Dawn said as she lifted her head up, smiling at her friend. "All this missing pokemon situation is making me stressed out." She lied. Ash chuckled a bit.

"Yah, I can relate to that as well." Dawn then scooted a bit closer to Ash as she looked into his eyes, getting lost in them once again.

"Hey Ash," Dawn said as she snapped out of her trance. "Do you like anyone right now?" Shocked, Ash widened his eyes as he looked at his friend. Thankfully, it was dark enough so she wouldn't see his cheeks blushing. It took him a few seconds until he re-collected himself and continued the conversation.

"Ehm, W-what do you mean?" he asked, trying to sound pretty dense, much like his kid self.

"Well, like you have feelings for someone, but in a loving way," Dawn said as she blushed deep red. Ash put a finger on his chin and acted like he was thinking.

"No, I don't think so," Ash lied. "Do you?" Dawn slowly nodded as she turned her head back to her feet as she watched them sway back and forth.

"Well, I had a crush on this guy, but I don't think he noticed them yet." Dawn paused as her thoughts slowly drifted into view as she continued. "Do you know what I should do?" Ash, who was still shocked that a girl like Dawn would talk about her feelings to a dense boy like Ash. Ash shook it off and smiled at the girl.

"Well, do you know if your 'crush' is in a relationship yet?" Dawn widened her eyes, not because it was a good question, but it was coming from Ash.

"Umm, I don't think so..." Dawn said as she looked up towards Ash. "What if he does though?" Ash let out a smile towards his friend and said, "If you truly love him, then let him go..."

"What???" Dawn asked, making her stand up from her seat, looking down at the boy.

"That came out wrong, did it?" Ash asked.

"Ya think?" Dawn replied as she continued to stand in front of Ash.

"Well, what makes me happy is when I see my friends happy, you know. But sometimes, you have to let them go. Think of it this way, when Ambipom was playing ping pong and decided to go play it competitively. What did you do?"

"Let him travel and play ping pong."

"How come?"

"Because he would be happier than if he traveled wi..." Dawn stopped as her eyes widened even more as she watched Ash stand up and held onto Dawn's hands.

"Only if you love them, will you let them go..." Dawn let out a weak smile as her legs started to tremble in place, but not noticeable to the boy. "It's getting late, I think we should head back," He was about to leave until he felt a light tug on his arm, making the boy turn to see his friend still holding one of his hands.

"A-ash..." Dawn said as she tumbled on her own words.

"What's up?" Ash asked innocently. Just then, he felt warm soft lips, touching his as his eyes widened even wider than before. She parted ways as Dawn let go of his hand and smiled at the boy.

"Thank you Ash," said as she ran back into the dark hallway.

"Ummm... Uhhh... Is that a new thing people do these days?" Ash asked himself.
