Crystal Dwight's POV
"Uyy, baks! Nabasa ko ang article mo about PSF Medical Center sa webpage ng SDG News!" Augustine exclaimed after he gave me a hug.
"Support mo talaga ako, no?" pabiro kong tugon.
"Naman!" he uttered, patting my elbow. "May nabinggwit na akong frenny na journalist. Si Fafa Ryle naman doctor. Oh, 'di ba? Sulit."
"Umayos ka nga," suway ko kaniya. "You sound weird!" I joked.
"Bakit ka pala naparito sa Foodie Place?" he asked next and went back to the counter when I passed him the money I pay for my orders.
"Na-miss kasi kita. Bakit bawal ba?"
He shrugged. "Ay, ewan ko sa'yo. Oh, ito sukli." Inabot niya sa akin ang singkwenta.
"Baklang 'to. Hindi mo talaga ako ililibre?"
"Hep? Ikaw nga itong dapat manglibre, eh," ganti niya na may nakakalokong ngiti sa labi.
"Oo na. Kapag may sweldo na ako!" masayang tugon ko.
Agad na akong nagpaalam kay Augustine upang tumungo sa Dreem Plaza. Bitbit ko ang dalawang milkshake na binili ko. Gonna give this one to Ellaine.
"Dwighty!" She waved her hand when I was getting nearer. As always Ellaine carries an exquisite look. Her black high-waisted double zip shorts and white asymmetric lace top suits her willowy figure. Being a model is really for her.
"Laine!" Inabot ko sa kaniya ang dala kong inumin. Masaya niya naman itong tinanggap.
"Paano ba 'yan? Dalawa na lang tayo," she mumbled after she took a sip from her drinks.
My heart aches but don't have any choice but to accept this fate. "Yeah. Dalawa na lang tayo," I replied, feelin' blue.
"Biglaan naman 'yung pag-alis ni Zyah. Hindi man lang tayo ininform," she grumbled under her breath as she looked down.
I also felt sad when Zyah left the country without informing us. But on the other side, I think I understand her and I respect her decision. Maybe, going far away and distancing herself from everyone could help her to ease her mind and gradually she will learn to accept the truth.
I know Zyah. She can overcome it but she needs time. Knowing that your father was actually the one who caused the death of your lover's dad, that's a heavy truth to carry and hard to accept.
Maging ako ay nasorpresa rin sa mga nalaman ko. That car accident that they were talking about. Uncle Clavey was the one who crashed on Mr. Dan's car.
Even Zyah and Dale's path didn't cross yet, their fathers had been involved with each other already.
Destiny really never failed to give some surprises.
"Who would have thought that both of their fathers were involved in that accident?" Ellaine was just staring into the distance.
I was just sipping on my drinks and looking at the people who were passing by. "Another one, who would have thought that Ledger and Dale were actually siblings?"
"Exactly!" she agreed. A moment later she was enveloped with sadness again. Naapektuhan talaga siya ng biglaang pag-alis ni Zyah. "Nalulungkot pa rin ako sa kanilang dalawa," she uttered. Her voice was filled with sadness.
I glanced at her and saw that she was playing at the straw on her drinks. "Sino ba naman ang hindi, 'di ba?"
She sighed. "Naniniwala pa rin ako na once na she's okay na, she would contact us." Then, she smiled yet it was a bitter smile, more likely a forced one.
