As days passed Julie and Elmo became more and more comfortable with each other, like there was no trace they estranged each other for five long years, never going a day that they were not talking and flirting with each other.
After the day Elmo had lunch with the San Jose's he started courting Julie again. Since the covid-19 numbers rise up again, Julie refrained Elmo from going out of his condo, even going to their house to visit her, because she was afraid for him to get infected with the virus. Unless he decides to go home in Antipolo. And Elmo never disobeyed her, he just sent her red roses and food almost everyday which she asked him to stop spending much because of the present situation so he decided to send her flowers and her favorite food once a week. What is important for Julie was their communication, because she was worried for him even without telling her living alone in his condo, in the world's present situation she knew it was really tough for him...she cannot even imagine herself in his situation, all her life she was always with her family naisip pa lang niya para na siyang mababaliw sa kalungkutan. As much as possible she talks to him every now and then, and Elmo appreciates what she was doing.
Two days before Christmas Julie and Elmo decided to meet each other.
Since Elmo didn't have a class because of Christmas break he insisted on fetching her. Since they were avoiding going to crowded places they had their dinner at one of the finest restaurants at Sekitori since Julie was fond of Japanese food lately.
After dinner, they went to Shangrila Mall. They decided to buy gifts for their siblings... Julie bought gifts for Elmo's family including his mamita, nieces and nephews. Elmo did the same thing he bought gifts for Julie's family, for the kasambahay and for her grandmother but they didn't know what gifts to buy for each other.
After they bought everything he asked Julie to just get inside the Starbuck Cafe while he bought Julie's gifts for his family and his gifts for his family to his unit...and brought his gifts for Julie's family and hers to his car after.
Julie decided to order their favorite coffee while waiting for Elmo.
After loading the gifts to his car he hurriedly went back to Starbucks where he found Julie at the counter ordering their coffee. He looked for a vacant table and he was taken aback when he saw his girlfriend Ryanne (Which he forgot that he had a girlfriend since they were not talking anymore.)
Ryanne was surprised to see Elmo after a long month of ignoring each other... Elmo was more surprised that she was with the guy whose hands on her shoulders, they're about to leave when he bumped into them.
Ryanne was obviously nervous, scared after seeing Elmo...that confirms Elmo's suspicions...the guy she was with was not just a friend but something more.
" El---mo."
Ryanne managed to speak, still in shock.
" Ry, can we talk? Pwede bro? Sandali lang."
He said calmly and smiled. He glanced at Julie who's still at the bar counter before he walked his way out and waited for Ryanne outside the Starbucks.
When Ryanne finally faced him, this time she wasn't scared or worried but she looked so apologetic.
Ryanne spoke first.
" Elmo, I'm really sorry. I didn't plan this to happen but--- I... I don't know how to explain this... He was the son of Dad's---"
" Hey, It's okay Ry... You deserve someone better. Someone you're Dad approved."
