Chapter 12
The communication between Julie and Elmo did not falter. Every chance they got out of their busy shooting they exchanged messages of their whereabouts, reminding each other to eat on time, take time to rest etc…and almost every night before bedtime they had a video chat until they fell asleep.
But their agreement to see each other every Sunday midnight didn't push through because their shoots ended really late.
Days seems to run so fast Elmo's first locked in movie shooting has come to an end, a week before Julie's locked taping would end.
Julie didn't know that Elmo's movie shoot had already ended but he stayed in Antipolo with his family and to wait for her first leg locked in taping to be over.
Elmo parked his car in the same spot outside the Luljetta's Garden Suites twenty minutes before midnight.
Regie, the resort guard spotted his car and walked his way towards him to confirm if it was really him.
Elmo opened the driver's window when Regie was a few steps away from the car.
" Sir… Elmo, sabi ko na nga ikaw eh. Busy pa si Miss Julie."
" Regz, heto coffee nyo and sandwich."
" Salamat Elmo."
" Gusto mo bang pumasok muna, Elmo?"
" Wag na, I'll wait here na lang."
" Okay, sige. Kung may kailangan ka lapitan mo lang kami ha. Umabante ka kaya doon ( Pointing on the area where he could see what's happening inside the cottage where Julie and the rest of the crew was working.) Sige, Elmo balik na ako sa pwesto ko. Maraming salamat sa pakape. "
" Okay, lipat ako doon. Salamat Regz."
Regie went back to the guardhouse and Elmo moved the car to the spot Regie recommended and he didn't know if he would be happy to finally see Julie act first hand first, not on tv screen was after eight long years (The last time he saw her act was 2013) but he wished he didn't see it…the on going shooting was the scene where David Licauco was topless who bumped Julie who almost fell the ground but David was quick to hold her waist so she didn't fell and Julie's hands was on his chest and their faces was just inch apart with their eyes locked with each other.
' Ugh! Of all the scenes ito pa ang naabutan ko?! Oops! Jelly ka Elmo? If only you didn't switch stations, maybe you're still the number one leading man on the list. But you transferred, so…tiis-tiis ka muna kahit masakit sa mata. On the other hand you're still the luckiest man. Why? Oh well we knew the fact na sayo pa rin naman baliw na baliw si San Jose. Di ba? So don't ruin the mood, buti nga hindi kissing scene naabutan. Nah. Kissing is prohibited nowadays…it's in the health protocols, no kissing scenes will be taken as long as covid-19 still exists.
See? How lucky are you? You're maybe not the leading man but you get to kiss her. '
Somehow the jealousy he felt lessened.
A few minutes after Elmo heard the director shouted.
" Last scene for tonight! Ayusin natin para isang take lang!"
And the director clapped his hands, signaling everyone to get ready for the last scene.
Before the scene was taken Julie's gaze caught a very familiar car outside the metal fence of the resort that distracted her for a while as her smile widened.
' Shit! Elmo is here! He didn't say he would be here tonight. Kaya nga surprise eh, surprise ka gurl? Di ba?'
Julie chuckled with the thought. She didn't even notice Rhoy on her side if he didn't poke her side.
