"Em, could you pass me the wrench?" You asked as you extended your hand. A slight sting was felt on your hand as Emerald harshly placed it in your hand. It was no secret Emerald held some remorse after what you did, you couldn't really blame her though. Blood was spilt and it was on your hands, you took the life of another and it didn't seem to affect you as much as everyone thought it would. But truth is that it was, every night you would wake up in a cold sweat, the scene replaying over and over in your mind.

Tyrian would always try and comfort you back into sleep but most nights you would just lie awake, to scared to go back to sleep. With a sigh you looked down at your hands, a flash of blood appearing before you shook your head. "Not now..." You mumbled as you continued to work on the motorbike. "Y/N... Are you okay? You're kind of shaking..." Jaune raised an eyebrow as he passed you a bottle of water. "I'll be fine, try it again." Jaune hesitantly nodded before gettingnon the bike. Turning the key he grinned as the engine turned on. "Nice!" He cheered as you stood up. Looking down at your arm's you grimaced at the sand and oil that stuck to your skin.

"I'm going to hit the showers, I'll clean up when I get back." Jaune nodded as he turned off the bike, going to move it back to its place. "Y/N, I need to have a talk with you real quick." Winter spoke as you reached for your towel. "Can I shower first?" You asked as you gathered your soap and spare clothing. "Of course, come and find me when you're done." You nodded as you hurriedly stepped out of the tent. Walking to the communal showers you sighed as you stepped in an open stall. The normally packed showers were somewhat empty at this time of day, the sound of water hitting the floor was calming to you.

Closing your eyes you stood under the water, unmoving as it ran down your shoulders. Millions of thoughts ran through your mind as you looked down at your hands, imagining the way they looked that day. Blood splatters on your clothes and on the floor, the stares everyone else gave you as your eyes were dead with no emotion. Swallowing a ball of saliva you shook your head, running your trembling hands through your hair. "Never again Y/N... Never again." You whispered the silent promise to yourself as you continued to wash yourself.

Turning off the water you grabbed your towel and wrapped it around yourself. Opening your eye you noticed the heavy amount of fog in the room. Looking around you found no one else in the showers. Reaching for your clothes you pulled out a pocket knife. Soft steps could be heard from behind you. "Y/N, hurry up. A storm's about to begin!" Weiss called out to you. With a huff you rushed to put on your clothes, still paranoid of the footsteps you heard. "Come on, everyone's already inside the tent." You nodded and walked of with Weiss, glancing back at the showers for a moment.

"Someone else in there?" She questioned and you shook your head. Walking inside the tent you placed your things down and sighed. "Y/N..." You looked up at Winter who motioned you to come over to her. "Everything alright?" You raised an eyebrow at her question. "I guess..." You shrugged, not really knowing what to say. "I'm not good with these conversations... But I've noticed somethings been on your mind, not to mention your night terrors." You slowly nodded and sighed. "Does everyone know about those?" You asked as you looked around the tent, everyone was doing they're own thing waiting for the storm to pass.

"We're not blind, everyone knows. They asked me to talk to you... They know you dont say much to anyone but they still want you talk to someone." Winter placed a hand on your shoulder making you smile slightly. "You know I've never really had anyone to talk to, until recently that is. But whenever I do it's because it feels natural, like it's the right thing to do... I used to try and talk with Salem about emotions and all that. First time she let it slide, I was just a kid I didn't know any better, but after that she made sure I knew. I'd like to think she grew attached to me for a bit but now seeing it clearly that woman isn't attached to anything."

Standing up you gave Winter a small nod. "I think I know what feels right now..." Turning around you walked over to Emerald, sitting down next to her. "What do you want?" She glared as she put her book down. "Just a talk... There's some things that need to be said." You mumbled. "I know Cinder meant a lot to you, I think you saw her the way I used to see Salem... And I'm Sorry, I know it's not worth much but It's..." You sighed as you furrowed your eyebrows, your mind not being able to form the words to convey your thoughts and emotion's. "It's difficult... I know. I'm not sure how I feel about everything. In the end I knew I meant nothing to Cinder, I just wanted to be angry at something, and I guess you were the easiest option." Emerald put her book down and sat up straight.

The both of you shared a small understand smile before she leaned on your shoulder, hugging her knees to her chest. "Now I just feel like an ass for taking it out on you. I've had blood on my hands too and I was just like you when I took my first life." Emerald whispered and you sighed. She was so young, barely even an adult and she had already seen the horrors of this world. The same could be said for everyone in the tent. "None of use should be here right now... And when we're done we'll make sure no one else has to go through the same thing we did." Emerald nodded as you wrapped your arm around her shoulder.
