Tyrian's laughter brought you back to the present as he crouched in his seat. "Well... An eye for an eye..." He trailed off as he continued his little laughing fit. You were about to speak up when the doors opened. Everyone fell silent as Salem walked into the room, slowly making her way to her seat. You gave her a nod as you stepped aside. "To what failure are you referring to Watts..." You turned your attention to the man as he got nervous. A small smile coming to you face as he started to slightly sweat. "Well, Beacon-" he got cut off by Salem. "Cinder managed to get the Fall maidens power, make Beacon fall and kill Ozpin... You did kill him right?" Salem turned her attention to Cinder who simply nodded. You stared at her for a moment as she stared back. "Send more grim... The relic is there." She commanded the Seer. Just looking at it made your throat ache. You gulped, resisting the urge to touch your neck.
"Hazel will go and meet with Adam of the white fang, you'll convince they're leader on the attack at Haven. Watts will check up on Lionheart. Cinder will stay here and focus on her training. Tyrian... Continue your search for the Spring maiden. You are... Speak child." Salem looked at Emerald who hesitantly spoke. "Salem want to know... What about the girl?" Your eyebrows raised as the mood shifted. "What about the girl? I'd have half the mind to thank the child that bested you." Watts chuckled. Salem stayed quit for a moment before looking at Tyrian. "Your search for the Spring maiden will have to wait Tyrian... Get the girl." You and Tyrian shared a glance before he started laughing. "Bring her back alive..." Salem spoke making Tyrian's face fall. You rolled your eyes as everyone was dismissed. "Where do you think your going?" You heard Salem ask you as you walked out with the rest.
"I'm assuming I'm going with Tyrian..." You mumbled as everyone rushed out the door. Salem waited for the doors to close before calling you over to her. You quickly sat down in an empty seat next to her. "It seems you still need some training... You'll be working with Cinder from now on." She ran her nails through your hair, making you shiver as they scratched your scalp. "Yes ma'am..." You mumbled looking down at the floor. "Good... You are dismissed." She waved you off, and you waisted no time in getting out of the room.
_______________________________It was late at night and you found yourself outside in one of the balconies of the dark palace. You sighed as you watched grim emerge from black pools of tar. "Well if it isn't my dear princess, it's a shame you won't be able to accompany me on my little outing... Oh but do not worry... I'll have fun for the both of us." He laughed as you stared at him. "You have a screw lose in there don't you?" You asked as you squinted your eyes. "Oh, don't we all my dear princess? I'm afraid I'll have to leave you for now, I'll be back soon so don't miss me to much." He laughed as he got on the railing and jumped from down using the grim as a landing. You shook your head as you watched him take off in a sprint, his figure slowly disappearing from your line of sight. "Didn't take you for one to like the crazy type." You heard a deep voice form behind you. You sighed as you turned to see Mercury. "I'm not... There's no place for silly things like love here." You spat out as you walked passed him. "Who said anything about love baby girl?" He asked as he outstretched his hand, grabbing you by the shoulder. Your eye twitched as you grabbed his hand and twisted it while you faced him. "Touch me again and I'll stab you." You glared as he winced in pain. "Feisty... I like it." He smirked giving you a wink. You dragged him down catching him off guard, letting you kick him in the face. You walked away as he hissed. Heavy footsteps following behind you, and just as you were about to reach for your blade you heard Emeralds voice. "Merc! Get in here." You turned to the open door, Emerald and Cinder standing there. "Maybe next time I'll get to kick your ass..." You smirked giving him a wink before walking away.
When you got back to your own room you walked over to a bookshelf that Salem had allowed you to keep and grow over the years. You pulled out one of your favorites and went to lay down on your bed. Something hard and bulky pressed up against your back. You groaned as you lifted yourself up to drag whatever it was out. "What the..?" You stared at the object that had a purple ribbon wrapped around it. You quickly undid it and a note slipped out. "A gift for you my princess, don't miss me to much while I'm gone." You smiled slightly as you stared at the book. He was a strange yet intriguing man to you.
Kinda short but a lil something as we get into the more plot heavy points...
