14: Atlas

You sighed as all of you flew through the skies, your plan to get to Atlas had a few bumps in the road but you eventually had the airship. "That was awesome! How'd you stop some of those grim?!" Ruby asked as they all looked at you. You smiled before shrugging your shoulders. "I just thought "don't get closer" and it was like... They could listen to me?" You nervously laughed as you looked around the group of teen's.

They looked at you with wide eyes, Blake breaking the silence. "That must've been your semblance..." You looked around hoping someone would come up with another idea. "You can COMMUNICATE WITH THE GRIM!" Nora exclaimed as she rushed to your side. "We should wait and put it to a test before we jump to conclusions." Ren tried reasoning and you nodded.

"Hate to interrupt you kids but we've made it to Atlas." Qrow spoke looking at all of you. You stood up and walked near the front of the ship, you stared in amazement at the floating city. "Woah... It must be beautiful up there... How'd they do it?" You mumbled, everyone seemed less amazed than you but you've never seen anything like it before.

"They used gravity crystals to lift it up off the ground, it's less amazing as one would think but it's still something." Wiess seemed to frown the more she thought about it. "Where are we going to land?" You asked as you got closer to Atlas. "We'll need to land in Mantel, they would never let us near Atlas in a stolen airship." Weiss commented and you all nodded.

Once you landed everyone got off the airship. "Careful there..." Qrow commented as he helped you regain your balance, you had tripped over a  pothole. You looked around and noticed the road was full of them, and the streets didn't look all that great either. "This place looks... Rundown..." You mumbled as you made your way out of the alley. "Mantel wasn't always this bad... Everything's been going downhill since beacon fell and I bet it's gotten worse with the embargo general Ironwood placed."

"Come on, we need to find somewhere we can hideout for a bit." Qrow looked back at all of you. "I think I can help with that..." Maria hummed as she lead the way. You looked to your side and noticed a drone flying closer to the group. You furrowed your eyebrows as it almost bumped into you, lifting your leg you kicked it into the wall watching it fall apart. "We don't have time for this guy's." You looked ahead and noticed Yang had done something similar to a different drone.

All of you stopped once you reached an open door, Maria entered and all of you followed soon after. You looked around the room, noticing the workbench and tools. "Who is this?" You asked as they stopped their talking. "Why he's only one of the top scientist in Atlas!" Maria scolded you making you raise an eyebrow as a ceiling tile fell onto the ground. "This is only temporary, I come down here every so often to take care of a few- You painted it... You painted the arm."

The old man gasped making Yang look at her arm. "You're team RWBY! I've heard a lot about you." The old man smiled at them. "How do you know about us?" Ruby asked as she stepped infront with Yang besides her. "My daughter, she's told me so much about all of you and she'll be so glad to know your here." An alarm interrupted their interaction. All of you rushed outside, watching as some people ran. A group of grim appeared, charging down the street. "We can never get a break can we?" You let out a small chuckle before all of you reached for your weapon's.

"On your left!" Nora called out as she went zooming past you. "On it!" You responded as you took in a deep breath, slicing through the grim as they came at you. "Do you wanna try it out?" She asked as a group came towards the both of you. "Only one way to find out for sure." You nodded towards her as she got on guard.

Letting out a deep breath you closed your eyes, feeling the ground beneath you shake lightly. The sound of gunshots fading into the distance as you concentrated on your task. "Y/N! Whatever your doing you might want to hurry!" You furrowed your eyebrows at the voice. "Let me do this!" You called back, getting into a fighting stance.

"Nora get her out of there!"

"Let her at least try!"

You let out a deep breath before your eyes snapped open, you were face to face with a grim. "I told you she could do it!" Nora exclaimed as she came up to you. A grin made it's way to your lips as you moved to place a hand on its head. It moved slightly but stayed in its place. "Woah... She actually did it..." You looked to your right and watch as Blake approached you.

A green light cut you off, all three of you looked up and saw a girl flying up above the streets. Everyone looked surprised when she finally landed, her eyes landing on Ruby. "Old friend?" You asked when the girl ran towards Ruby. "You could say that..." "Its a long story..." Blake started and Nora finished.

You watched as the two interacted before the ginger blasted off again. You narrowed your eyes when you saw something move on the rooftops. You reached for your weapon only for it to be snapped out of your own hand. "Guy's!" You yelled out as you fell, everyone else falling soon after. "Hey! What are you doing! Let us go!" Ruby yelled out as everyone struggled.

"Just following orders, we'll be taking this." You watched as the one with the lamp walked away before being shoved into a transport airship with the rest of the team.
