Chapter 40: Missing

Laurance's POV:

After I walked home yesterday I decided to go straight to bed. When I woke up it was already ten thirty. I put on my red and white striped shirt and jeans and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Hey Laurance. Sorry about yesterday.", Garroth said as I came downstairs.

"It's okay.", I said. Then I noticed I got a message from Lucinda. I look over through her house and saw a bunch of people crowding it. I listened to the voice notice and what it said shocked me.

'Laurance, help. A guy broke into my house and is kidnapping me. If I am gone by the time you get here, he has most likely moved me somewhere else. There are some potions upstairs in my bedroom and where I make my potions. You can probably use them to find me.'

"Garroth! Lucinda needs our help!", I yelled and ran outside.

"Wait! Zane! Get down here!", Garroth called his brother down.

I ran outside and pushed through the crowd to find the gang out front. The one of the house's window was smashed and when looking through the window inside looked like a mess.

"What happened?", Zane asked as he came up behind me with Garroth.

"Kawaii~chan and Katelyn~sama came up this morning to ask Lucinda~Sama if she wanted to come over for breakfast but Kawaii~chan saw this.", KC told us.

I then told them about the voice message sent by Lucinda and played it for them.

"I swear to Irene! If it's Ivan or some other jerk!", Katelyn exclaimed after hearing it.

"Guys, I called the police and they're on the way. In the mean while Kawaii~chan, did you find anything useful?", Aph asked.

"Yes. We found this.", the Meif'wa said pulling out a piece of paper in her pocket.

Aaron took it from her and read, 'If you don't back off, your red-haired friend gets it.'

"W-what does that mean?", Kim asked clearly confused.

"I mean her hair is more orange than red.", Garroth mumbled.

"G-guys.", Travis stuttered.

"What?", Katelyn asked.

Travis pointed to the piece of paper since he was looking over Aaron shoulder. We looked at it and saw a potion bottle with a green liquid. Everyone's faces grew pale.

Aphmau's POV:

"That's... a forever potion.", I said quietly enough for only the group to hear.

The crowd of people started clearing out when the police came. A police officer came to our group to ask a few questions. We noticed two GF soldiers were here also and since what happened at the lodge and Starlight was classified information they came over to us. One was male the other female.

"Why are you hear?", Katelyn asked the GF.

"We're here because the police station here got a call from someone named Aphmau and since with the groups history, we were assigned.", said the male.

"Oh okay."

"Now, what happened here?", the woman asked.

We told them about the voice note, and the note on the counter. We gave them the slip to examine.

"Hmmm..., that report you guys sent the other day, that was dealing with Garte...", The male began.

"Yes?", Zane said.

"I suggest you stay away from the case for a while. This is a treat. You folks have come a bit too close to finding out the truth."

"So what are we going to do?! Lucinda's still missing." Katelyn exclaimed.

"Were going to send out another search party, here, starlight, the suspect's neighbourhoods and around them."

"Suspect?", Katelyn asked.

"Your mother, Katelyn..." Kim said quietly and Katelyn's eyes widened.

"Yes. Now we have to go. The sooner we start the faster we can find them. Be safe.", the girl said before leaving with her comrade.

We all went to my house a sat on the couch telling Aaron parents and Melissa the news.

"So..., What do we do now?", Melissa asked.

"We find Lucinda."
