Chapter 72: Emmalyn?

Zane's POV:

Nana had come over this morning and was upstairs in Garroth's room with him. I was downstairs making breakfast because Laurance was still sleeping. I put the last pancake on one of the two plates, one for me one for Nana. I asked Garroth earlier if he was hungry and he shook his head 'no'. I guess he's still upset he can't go back into his human form. I was about to head up stairs to call her when the doorbell rang. I answered it and saw Kim and Lucinda there.

"Umm..., hi.", I was confused why they were here so early in the morning. I mean yeah, it was past nine but it was still early.

"Hi Zane. You're just the person we wanted to see.", Lucinda said.

"Why do I feel so sacred to find out why?", I asked sarcastically.

Kim giggled, "It's nothing like that. We just want to know if you remember Garte."

"No, I don't.", I said then began to close the door but Kim pushed it back open.

"How do you know if we don't ask you anything?", she asked.

I sighed, "Fine..., but can I at least have breakfast first?"

"Of course.", Lucinda said and they walked in.

I told Kim that Garroth was in his room still and she sprinted up the stairs.

Lucinda laughed then I said, "Isn't a certain someone why you get up so early now?"

"W-what?! N-no.", she said then regained her composer, "I don't know what you're talking about.", she folded her hands and turned away from me.

"Sure. You can sit if you want."

"Okay thanks.", she said sitting in the sofa.

Kim's POV:

I sprinted up the stairs to Garroth's room and opened the door seeing Kawaii~chan on his bed reading a book and Garroth laying down on the floor beside the bed.

"Hi Kawaii~chan.", I waved as I walked in.

She looked up and smiled. "Hi Kim~chan. What are you doing here?", she smirked.

"J-just came to see Garroth, oh and to tell you that Zane is downstairs with Lucinda eating breakfast.

"Okay thanks. I'll leave you two be now.", she did the face again and left the room closing the door behind her.

I shook my head and smiled, then turned to Garroth. His head face away from me, and his eyes were closed and his ears flopped down. I guess he's still upset from yesterday. I walked over to his bed and sat down on it picking up the book that Kawaii~chan was reading. I looked at the cover and it was just a book about cooking and baking. I placed the book on a night table beside the bed then laid horizontally across the bed facing Garroth, his head still turned away from me.

"Hey Garroth.", I said softly.

He didn't move from how he was set. I sat up and got off the bed to go over to where Garroth was. I sat down beside him and he turned his head from me again facing the bed. As he did some dust lifted up in the air causing him to slightly sneeze. I couldn't help but giggle. When I did Garroth looked slightly irritated.

"Sorry..., Is everything okay?", I asked.

Garroth looked at me and looked slightly more irritated. He laid his head back on the floor away from me. Yep, he's definitely still upset from yesterday.

"S-sorry, I forgot.", I apologised again.

I leaned against the wall and brought my knees up to my chest wrapping my arms around them. Well, if Garroth isn't in the mood to talk I guess I'll talk to Ghost until Zane is ready. I closed my eyes and focused on seeing Ghost.

I opened my eyes again and found myself in a dark void in the middle of a large white pentagram. After a few seconds Ghost appeared in front of me.

"Hey Ghost, can I ask you some questions?", I asked her.

"Sure. But you know I don't remember much, right?"

"Yeah, but you knew you Alina was and her parents. She also called you Emmalyn. Is that your name?", I asked.

"Yes, that is my name. When I was with her again I remembered, somethings. I only remember my name, her and her parents.", she told me.

"So, what are her parents' name?"

".... I-Irene and...Shad...."

"Irene?! Like, Irene, the matron?! The Goddess?!", my eyes widened, "But who's Shad?"

"Yes, Irene, but not Irene. And Shad, where I'm from he was something like a god, but her father...., lets change the subject please? Some things are just left better for the right time."

"Okay, sure. What do you want to talk about?"

She brought her finger to her chin and tapped it.

"Well, I would ask you about you and Garroth but..., I'm in your body so I pretty much know already."

"Yeah. But..., do you want me to call you Emmalyn or Ghost?", I asked.

"Y-you can still call me Ghost, but please don't tell the others yet.", she asked.

"Sure. I think I'm going to be heading back now. Zane's probably done eating now."

"Ok then. I'll be here.", Ghost said then everything being to fade.

I opened my eyes to find myself back in Garroth's room. I felt something beside my foot so I looked down and I saw Garroth. He looked up and upon seeing my eyes open raised his head. He muzzled his head on my arm softly. I guess he's feeling better now. I rubbed his head with my hand and then began to get up. I really wish I could know what Garroth is thinking.

I walked to the door and turned around to Garroth who was still seated.

"You coming?", I asked.

He nodded and followed me out the door.
