a/n — we love a little love triangle with a dash of angst!

Perrie's always been the insane one. Unhinged, really.

Okay... maybe not that insane but she was a hopeless romantic. And it showed. Leigh knew that.

In fact, she was the girl lucky enough to be shown this hopeless romantic thing. She was the lucky girl that had to wake up with flowers on her windowsill, she was the lucky girl that had to open up her windows in the middle of the night so that Perrie could serenade her; she was the lucky girl. Period.

It's not like she wanted to lead her on or anything but Perrie never really made it clear, you know? Never said what she wanted. And that's why Leigh couldn't give her an answer. Not yet.

"Do you think I'm doing too much, Jade?" The blonde asks as she leans on the frame of the smaller girl's bed, the brunette huffs, rolling her eyes and ignoring her for the most part before she answers.

"Got a boom box and played her favorite song outside her house, got her flowers every day, watched the shows she loves and you're not even into shows that much, listened to the same music she wanted... you're down, Pez. And it's really bad for you."

"But is it too much?" She asks, annoying the girl further when Jade growls, lifting her head from her book, "Get out of my room..." She snaps, Perrie blinks, "I literally live with you."

"But you don't live in my room. Now get out."

"Geez, fine. I guess I'm gonna do my Psychology homework now." Standing up and heading for the door, Jade furrows her eyebrows, looking at the blonde as she taps the pen on the table quietly, "That's due tomorrow."

"That's why I'm gonna do it now!" The taller girl pouts, crossing her arms.

As much as Perrie wanted to be mad at the other girl, she just softens her gaze at her, hoping that she wasn't mad at her. She couldn't stand Jade being mad at her. She's only been mad at her twice and those were the worst moments of the blonde's life.

"Were you supposed to do it tomorrow?" Jade asks incredulously, staring at her in disbelief when Perrie clears her throat awkwardly, leaning on the doorframe, "No, I was supposed to ask you to help me with it tomorrow."

"Get out of my room."

"You're not going to help your best friend?" A shot in the dark that's most likely going to miss.

"Absolutely not. I have problems of my own, you know."

And unlike the previous banters they normally had, this time, Jade makes an effort to stand up and shove the girl outside, slamming the door right on her face.

Perrie just stands there in disbelief.

She's done something to fuck up. She doesn't know what but she fucked up real bad.

Like, Jade and her had fought a number of times and it was all in good fun but... this was something else. The girl's been more distant, she's been more quiet and she's just avoiding the blonde altogether.

It hurts her. But she doesn't say anything because she's too afraid to lose her. Especially if it's her own fault.

So she walks away instead, taking a deep breath and wondering how the hell she's meant to make it up to her as the girl from the other side of the door drops on her bed, staring at her ceiling intensely.

She hated pushing Perrie away but... she has to. She needs to. Especially if she wanted to keep their friendship. She just can't lose her over a stupid—
