To be fair, Perrie had no fucking idea how she ended up in LA.
One second she's in London getting an earful from her mam because she's late at the airport and then she's on a plane and then, well, you guessed it, she went from cloudy UK to sunny LA.
"Mam... I know Jonnie's getting married and all but can I please take a nap?" She pleads that once they're halfway inside the hotel, Debbie could only roll her eyes, shoving her in the direction of her cousin, Ellie. "You two are sharing a room. The wedding is tomorrow at lunch and you two better be up by 8 for your makeup. Rehearsal dinner is at five."
"Got it." She couldn't be arsed, taking the keycard almost immediately and turning around when her mother called for her again, "And Perrie?"
She fakes a smile, hiding her yawn, "Yeah, mam?"
"Try not to get into too much trouble." Okay, first of all, she's a gay twenty-eight year old working at a studio as a producer, barely gets out and literally has no other friend but the doordash delivery guy. What 'trouble' is she about to do?
Thankfully, Ellie was there to rescue her from her mother, hooking an arm around her before waving to the older blonde, "I'll look after her, Aunt Debs!"
"What does she mean trouble..." She mumbles, taking a huff and frowning so deep, Ellie just laughs, "Don't think about it, Perrie. Just don't."
And with that, she forgets about it. Collapsing on the bed without any other thing in her mind but sleep.
"Are you going to stare outside your window for ages?" Jade Thirlwall blinks, shaking her head and pulling herself back into the present as she turns her head towards her friend, flushing for a bit and clearing her throat, "No. I'm just wondering why there's a set up right outside my window."
Shrugging, Leigh-Anne Pinnock collects her phone from the desk, "There'll be a wedding there tomorrow." The answer makes Jade's eyebrows shoot up, tilting her head in curiosity,"Oh?"
"Yeah. So get ready to cry over two strangers madly in love with each other." The darker skinned girl laughs. And the brunette offers a sweet smile, "Maybe it'll get me to write."
"Hopefully. We're rotting in here, Jade."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"If we still have nothing by next week then maybe we should just go home empty handed." At that, the writer purses her lips together, forming a thin line. "Do we really want to do that?"
"Do you want to stay here?" The question makes her pause. Did she really want to stay here? What's so special about Los Angeles anyway? It's not like she's staying here for something. Or someone.
"Listen, I'll head out for the night. But I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" Leigh-Anne bids, placing a short kiss on the top of Jade's head and leaving her for the night before walking outside.
The elevator wasn't particularly far from the room but the doors were closing just as she was rounding the corner. So, like any normal person does, she runs and slides her arm on the gap between the doors, forcing it open.
Inside was a blonde dressed in semi-formal clothing. Her expression seems uninterested and tired, but Leigh-Anne still offers her a smile.
"Hi." She pants, greeting the stranger.
Perrie raises her eyebrow, adjusting her jumpsuit before responding, "Hello."
It takes Leigh-Anne a second to realize before she gasps. "Oh my god, you're British?" She asks, her smile doubling the size. I mean, yeah, British people walk around Los Angeles a lot but it's not all the time.
