"I can't believe you haven't told her yet." Leigh-Anne Pinnock mutters as she ties the corset around her waist, the brunette scoffs. "Why would I do that?"
Leigh knew about what the smaller girl had felt, knew how she would ramble on and on about how she was so annoyed that it couldn't be her.
That it wasn't her that the blonde was talking about. That it wasn't her she was rambling on and on about. That it wasn't her, the one woman who would risk it all for her, it wasn't her Perrie was falling in love with.
Thinking about it is already a punch in the gut, what more if she had actually told the blonde and she got turned down?
"She never specified who the girl was. What if it's you?" She encourages, rubbing Jade's shoulders as she grunts, clutching her stomach, "Do princesses really need to wear these?"
"Look, do you want the costume or not? Jesy and your girl are on their way." The darker skinned girl retorts with a raised eyebrow, a teasing smirk on her face as Jade slumps back down. "I love Halloween but this is such a pain."
"That's a lot of talking for the girl who isn't about to come out in booty shorts and lug a bat around." She mutters, adjusting her pigtails as she donned her Harley outfit, Jade gapes at her, "Touché , Pinnock, touché."
Leigh knew how much Jade was hiding beneath her smile whenever she was with the blonde. The look in her eyes, the spark dimming down with every mention of this "mystery girl," she kept on rambling about.
She had no idea how much it hurt but she knew that it did. And despite being the blonde's best friend— she'd be willing to throw her off a cliff once she hurts the smaller girl.
The door below them was rustling, signalling the entrance of their two friends when they heard Jesy's cackle, Jade grins. "Got the Joker laugh perfected, does she?" She asks cheerfully, Leigh blinks, "That bitch..."
Jade didn't hear the rest of the sentence as the door flew open, the rustling of metal and the creaking of bolts greeting someone's presence, she raised an eyebrow, staring at the absolute dumbass of her life.
"What are you supposed to be? The tin man in Wizard of Oz?" Leigh chuckles, earning the finger from the blonde as she struggles to remove her headpiece, letting her blonde locks loose as Jade chokes.
Not that she was too mesmerized by the girl but mostly of how she looked like a fool beneath the metal costume. "Perrie Louise Edwards, I know you did not just stick a cheeseburger inside that helmet."
The brunette stares in horror as she watches the blonde pry off the cheeseburger wedged between the gaps, allowing the blonde to take a bite without having to hold it, she grins. "Oh but I did."
"At this point I'm not even surprised at the shit you pull. Bye, I'm done with you, where's Jesy?" She rambles, pushing the blonde away from the door as she jogged down the stairs, Perrie smirks. "You look good, definitely look like a princess."
You see, the normal reaction would be a roll of her eyes or a scoff, maybe a little smile because this idiot complimented her but Jade's different. She's in love with her.
So instead, she forces an eye roll, hoping that it wasn't too obvious as she looks up at the blonde, trying her best not to show how flustered she truly was as she mutters a dry, "thanks."
The blonde doesn't say anything, she was used to having these types of reactions, so in return, she grins, linking their arms together as they run down the stairs, catching Jade's waist when the smaller girl nearly topples over.
