A/N: just a heads up lol this is SO random because i watched the crown and i can't take this off my mind so here <3
They were never meant to be.
Not in the papers, not in the books, not in anything. They were star crossed lovers.
Better yet, they were like a love song that has to be kept secret, stowed away in the deepest pits of a writer's drawer as they become forgotten, although lingering in the back of their mind.
All of this could have been resolved, they could have been living a rather happy life if not for the thing that sits atop her shoulder.
The thing that holds her back from being normal.
Not on Jade's precisely, on top of Jesy's, her sister.
The Crown. The Queen.
The Royal Monarch, currently the most famous woman in the world. And Jade couldn't help but have the spotlight shone on her as well, considering that she is in fact, the heir to the throne.
Seen as her sister had no interest in marriage or in having children, she was left with no choice but to bear the title.
She'd rather have nothing, to be completely honest.
"You're staring." Jesy mutters as she read the news on her phone, they might be seen as classic and old fashioned but that does not stop them from evolving with time. Jade sneers, "I should be out by now."
"Where to?" The ginger asks, her eyes never leaving her phone as she takes a sip of her drink, hiding the smirk beneath the cup, knowing exactly where the girl was supposed to be at.
Jade flushes at that, suddenly hiding her head behind her hands as she glares at her sister, "I'm going to kill you one day."
"Is that a threat? This is treason!" Jesy shrieks with laughter as the smaller brunette whimpers, throwing a spoon at her.
They might be the most composed, regal and well, dull family the world could think of but— no one really knew what was happening behind closed doors.
"So what's your excuse for the media now?" She suddenly asks slowly, the smaller girl sighs, "That I'm just there to watch her and to be the guest of honor at the celebrity football game."
"I take it that she's coming over? With her friend, of course."Jade pauses, suddenly looking up at her sister as her jaw drops, her tiara nearly falling off of her head.
Jesy's never asked that, never said that. Never even thought of it.
"Who are you and what have you done to my sister?" She whispers in an awed tone, the slightly taller girl shrugs, "What?"
Still surprised, Jade begins to poke her sister, drawing in a deep breath, "Are you serious?" She mumbles, still unable to comprehend this as Jesy looks at her, concerned, "Why are you so surprised?"
"Because! I'll be seen with her, Jes. She— why would a singer go to the palace for no apparent reason?" The girl deadpans, her Geordie accent coming out seen as she was raised in Newcastle, where she'd met her.
The older girl merely shrugs at that, putting her feet up at the table, completely disregarding any protocols, any rules, Jade watches her in awe, "You're bound to be, you know."
"What?" She whispers, still unsure at what her sister is playing at, Jesy smirks, "Everyone needs to know who my sister is going to marry."
Awestruck, Jade spits out her tea, dribbling it down her clothes, "What?"
