Being an immortal was one of the worst things Perrie Edwards could ever imagine.

But imagine being one because you're a vampire. Yeah. It sucks ass.

You form bonds with people, go through hell and back with them, only for time to pass by and you stay the same thing you were when you first met while they grow old, live happily, and eventually succumb into death.

She hated every minute of it. But at the same time, she refuses to, you know, just call it a day and shove a wooden stake right at her chest. Instead, she stays. She lets time pass by and abuse her over and over just so she could protect the mortals she had begun caring about.

"Perrie," The clicking of heels accompanied the familiar voice the blonde had grown fond of, getting closer and closer to her as she leaned on the railings of her staircase.

"Stay away, I don't want you bothering me right now." She responds, with a slight smirk, Leigh-Anne Pinnock rolls her eyes, stealing the drink from the blonde's hands, "Is that how you greet your best friend?"

"You're a demon I'm forced to live with." Perrie says to Leigh who remains unbothered by how bitchy she was acting, downing the drink in one gulp, "Still your best friend."

Pushing herself off the metal rails, the taller girl finally takes a look at her friend. Her skin glistens under the sun and her eyes are filled with sparkles that put the starry night skies to shame.

"Still a pain in the ass, too."

In another world, or maybe in a different time, they could've fallen in love. Imagine that, a vampire and a demon... spending all eternity together, wreaking havoc to anyone in their path.

They could've worked—they should work, but having her by her side until the world ends as her best friend sounds better than any romance she could possibly have.

"What are you doing here? It's barely noon." Her eyes find the raven haired girl, now seated on one of the leather chairs inside their home, Leigh chuckles, "You said it yourself, we live together."

"You come home in the afternoon."

"Maybe I just missed you."

"I doubt it. You don't 'miss' me. You miss annoying me."

Leigh was silent for a while, her smile fades and Perrie notices, making herself frown as the slightly older girl sighed.

"They're breaching, you know. They're bound to take us one by one. You and I might get separated." She says, obviously tense as Perrie sat there, emotionless, her gaze as cold as her skin.

"What are you talking about?" She asks through her teeth, the other woman simply shakes their head, "You and I know there's a war out there, Perrie. You know what happens when a war wages."

"Ah, right. You get collected by your very almighty dad and I get summoned by the stupid creatures I'm supposed to call my own." She seethes, her hands clenching into a fist as she tries her best not to just... explode.

"They're the rules." The raven haired woman replies simply, the blonde, however, didn't want this simplicity.

"Why don't we break them?" She suggests, "Because if we do..."

"What? They're going to banish us? Like they've done countless times before?" That seems to strike a nerve at the other girl, suddenly defeated as she hung her head low, refusing to look the taller girl in the eye.

"I just don't want to lose you." She admits.

"You won't. I promise, alright?" She reassures her. It was a promise she would keep. It didn't matter if she had to go through countless creatures just to protect her. She would keep her word. No monster, no vampire, no wolf, no demon, no god can ever separate the two of them.
