Miss Jackson (Edgeworth x Assassin! Reader)

I am now aware that this song has a different meaning, but this is what I thought of when I first saw/heard it (cause I watched the music video)

Set during AAI2 - this is so I can have a certain cameo for a certain DeBeste prosecutor....... (peeps on my AA Discord Server will know my obsession with him)

Also, thanks to @EatYourBurgersApollo for giving me the reader's assassin name (:

-------------EDGEWORTH'S POV

Climbing out the back door didn't leave a mark
No one knows it's you, Miss Jackson
Found another victim
But no one's gonna find Miss Jackson, Jackson, Jackson

"Prosecutor Edgeworth? I trust you know you're in charge of finding Shadow Kira the assassin, right?"

"Of course I know that Judge Courtney and I have no intention of not capturing them. After all, it would be a shame if this assassin kidnapped someone to get a 'Not Guilty' verdict for their client. I will personally see to it that Shadow Kira is caught and incarcerated."

You put a sour little flavour in my mouth now
You move in circles hoping no one's gonna find out
But we're so lucky,
Kiss the ring and let 'em bow down
Looking for the time of your life
(ain't always gonna find out)

A pretty picture but the scenery is so loud,
A face like heaven catching lightning in your nightgown,
But back away from the water, babe, you might drown
The party isn't over tonight
(lightning in your nightgown)

"Breaking news! Police have just revealed that there has been a murder in the bank. The culprit behind it being the assassin Shadow Kira as they have discovered their calling card by where the bank's manager was found dead." Another one? This is going to take some work... It was then that I heard the front door open, "Miles? I'm back." I smiled knowing that (Y/n) had now returned from getting something from town. She wouldn't tell me what it was though that she was going to get.

"Welcome back, Love," I replied standing up and going to greet her. She smiled and leaned up, pecking my cheek, "Love ya!" she spoke before walking upstairs. I managed to catch sight of a small bit of blood on her skirt as she walked away from me, Wasn't she just going to get some food? How'd she get blood on her...

Hey
Where will you be waking up tomorrow morning?
Hey
Out the back door
Goddamn
But I love her anyway
I love her anyway
I love her anyway
Out the back door
Goddamn
But I love her anyway

Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Are you nasty?

Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Are you nasty?

Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Miss Jackson,
Are you nasty?
Are you nasty?
I love her anyway

"Miles! Can you get my phone from my bedside drawer for me please?"

"And you can walk upstairs to get it yourself, because?" I asked, tapping my finger on my arm. (Like his sprite)

She pouted, "Because I'm comfy here! Also, you're already standing up, so it makes sense for you to get it for me rather than me standing up too!" I rolled my eyes, "You're logic's getting better, (Y/n)," before walking upstairs to get her phone for her. I was slightly confused as she'd never let me see inside her bedside drawer before. What have you been hiding from me this whole time, (Y/n)? I opened up her bedside drawer and took her phone out. This seemed to cause some unrest in the drawer and something from a pile fell. A card. I picked it up and turned it over, my eyes widening. I placed (Y/n)'s phone in my pocket before closing her drawer and leaving the bedroom.  Rather than walking straight back downstairs to give her her phone, I walked to the office we had in our house to share if we had work to do at home, and walked straight to my desk, fishing through the drawer of files. I finally found the one I was looking for and pulled it out. Opening it up, there were pictures of the pieces of evidence used in the case and I searched for a picture of the card from the assassin that had been responsible for that case.
