-------------------FLASHBACK

"PLEASE! You can't do this! Please! No! Please don't take her from me! Please! I can look after her, just give me time! I'll show you!"

No matter how much I plead with them, the door was closed and I was left alone again.

--------------END OF FLASHBACK

"Miss (Y/n)?"

I looked up from the photo I was looking at and quickly wiped my eyes when I noticed Trucy sitting next to me and a confused look on her face. I placed the photo down and turned to her, "Oh, hello, Trucy. Sorry, I didn't see you there. I was deep in thought."

"What were you thinking about?"

"I-it's nothing of your concern Trucy. You don't need to worry."

"You were crying though. Why?"

"That's also none of your concern Truce. Why don't you go and find Apollo and get him to help you with your magic show?"

That got her attention and she hopped off on a search for Apollo.

"(Y/n)?"

I snapped out of my daze and turned to the voice, "Oh, Phoenix. Hey."

"Tell me why you're crying."

"I-It's none of your concern, Phoenix, please. Just drop the subject."

I stop up from the sofa and walked out of the agency, leaving the photo I'd been holding on the sofa and a confused Phoenix behind me.

----------------------PHOENIX'S POV

"You know anything?"

"Wright, please I'm busy."

"Doing what? Forcing Kay to play chess with you? I know there are no cases at the moment. Please, Edgeworth. It's for (Y/n)'s sake! Remember her?"

He sighed and looked up from the piece of paper he had been reading previously, "What is it?"

"This photo. It's of (Y/n) and a small child. Do you know anything?" He took the photo and put his glasses back on after having removed them to look up at me. He examined it for a while and sighed, "I know what this is about."

"What is it about, Edgeworth? Tell me."

"She hasn't told you yet then? I'd have thought she would have done by now. You see, quite a few years ago, before we 'reunited'. There was a case I was on. It was about a girl and the authorities were trying to take her daughter away from her. Apparently, she wasn't in a good enough financial situation to take care of the child."

"What does (Y/n) have to do with that though?"

"She was the mother."

I gasped, "What?!"

"It's true."

"Do you know where the girl was taken? Like the daughter, I mean."

"I don't know, Wright. I presume she was taken to the orphanage."

Before he could anything else, I was out of his office.

-----------------

"Do you have this girl in your custody?!"

"Sir, please leave."

"No. If you have this girl in your custody, I want to adopt her."

"Oh! Well, let me see that photo then." I smiled at her and handed her the photo thankful that she would listen to me.

"Hmm, oh yes. Now I remember, Alana-"

"You do know her?!"

She sighed, "I do, however, she doesn't do talking to people much. That's probably why no one has adopted her yet."

"About that. She's not an ophan. Listen, I know her mother and please. I'm telling the truth when I know that (Y/n)'s financial situation has improved a lot since her daughter was taken away. You have to let her see Alana!"

--------------------YOUR POV

I sighed as I looked down at the photo again. I tried not to let the tears fall, but I couldn't.

"(Y/n)? (Y/n)! Snap out of it!" I snapped from my daze and huddled myself into Phoenix.

"Shh, (Y/n) it's okay. Shh." He wrapped an arm around me and continued whispering comforting words to me and I soon calmed down. Once I had calmed down, he lifted my chin up, "(Y/n), I have a surprise for you."

"Huh?"

He nodded, but before he could say anything else, there was a knock at the door. Phoenix smiled at me, "Go and let them in, (Y/n)." I nodded and stood up, walking to the door of the Agency. I opened the door and was immediately shocked at who was on the other side.

"M-mother?!"

"A-Alana, i-is it really you?"

She smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back and started crying, "Alana, I'm so happy to see you. You've grown so much." I turned back to Phoenix, "H-how?"

He just chuckled, "I have my sources, (Y/n), but I hope this has made you happy to see her."

"Yes, it has. How many strings did you have to pull to get her to come here for the day?"

He smiled and walked up to where I was standing and hugged me, "(Y/n), not just for the day. You now have full custody of her again."

"W-what?" I asked, confused and tears coming to my eyes.

"That's right, (Y/n). You have full custody of her."

I brought my hands up to my mouth and the tears that were threatening to spill, spilt and I hugged him, "Thank you! I don't know how many strings you had to pull or loop holes you had to jump through, but thank you. Thank you so much. I'm so grateful. Grateful to the point where I could just kiss you..." I immediately slapped a hand over my mouth, "I mean, well, what I mean is th-"

"(Y/n), it's okay. I wouldn't be opposed to it," he replied, lifting my chin up before looking into my eyes deeply, "I love you, (Y/n)."

"I-I love you too, Phoenix."

With that said, he leaned in and kissed me.

-----------------

Let's just say Trucy was ecstatic to have both a new mother and a sister in her life and Alana was full of joy at having Trucy as a sister.

-------END OF ONESHOT

So... how did you peoples like it? I thought of this and just wanted to write it and I thought Phoenix would be a good choice... I believe that this is probably the first oneshot that I've set between Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice that hasn't included Apollo or Athena in some way...
