Chapter 55

Meredith was supposed to be sleeping right now but she wasn't. She and Derek had fell asleep holding each other and it was nice. She felt safe.

But somewhere along the line of her sleeping she couldn't shake "the" feeling. The feeling of how much she wanted him. She felt stupid for how much she thought about this. So foolish she didn't even want to tell him.

So, now it was about 2:34 in the morning and instead of sleeping she was laying on the bed on her back looking at the ceiling.

Now she knows if she wanted to, she could easily wake him up and they could talk about it. But like she said she felt foolish. So instead she tossed and turned trying to get comfortable and shake the feeling.

But her tossing and turning didn't go unnoticed by Derek.

"Meredith " he groaned  "stop moving so much"

"Sorry" she whispered

After 10 minutes Meredith started tossing and turning again.

"Mer" he groaned again

"Sorry sorry"

But then she started moving again.

Derek sat up and turned on his lamp light.

"Hi" she smiled

"Meredith, it's" he said taking a brief pause to look at the clock

"It's 2:47 in the morning, why are you moving so much?"

"I can't sleep"

"Why?"

"Thoughts.. thinking just thinking about thoughts and I shouldn't be thinking these things but I am seems like in the middle of the night or I guess early morning would be the best time to have these thoughts that I shouldn't be thinking-"

"Mer" he chuckled He missed her rambling.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked gently

"You" she breathed

"Me?" He asked smirking

"Um... n-no not you definitely not you" she stammered as her face turned a bright shade of pink

"Meredith what's going on?" He laughed slightly

"Nothing. Nothing is going on so you should turn off the light and we should go back to sleep" she said reaching for his light. Derek stopped her hand however and sat her back down.

"Meredith tell me what's wrong please?"

"It's.. I want you" she said looking down at their comforter

"Oh mer that's fine at least it is with me"he said putting his hand on hers

"No no it's not. I said i wasn't ready and now I am and it's fast it's really fast but I miss you and I feel really stupid about ugh I don't just turn off the light and we can back to sleep" she mini rambled

"Meredith did you ever think I missed you too? That maybe I wouldn't think your were crazy and I would want to.. to?" He asked with a smile

"I knew you would and that you'd be great about my craziness but I wasn't"

"Meredith do you want to?"

"Yes I um I do"

"Ok then, do you want to right now?"

"Do you?"

"Meredith "

"Yeah I do " she breathed
