Chapter 8

This was the first night in a year she had slept alone. Slept alone and had those terrible dreams. She needed him and she understood what he said. He didn't kiss that girl but still his lips were on another woman's while she was gone. It hurt
Derek got out of bed and brushed his teeth making his way to Merediths room, they're room. She wasn't in there though.
"Mer?"
"I'm in the bathroom I'll be out in a bit"
He sat on the bed and waited for her to come out. Scared of whatever she may of thought of while she slept in their bed. She came out and sat on the back of the bed away from him.
"Meredith what can I do? What can I do to make this better?"
"I don't know I mean imagine if you walked in on me kissing someone. You hate when guys even look at me imagine them kissing me"
"If they jumped you and you didn't want it and pulled back the second it happened if anything I'd feel bad for you"
"So you think I should I feel bad for you?"
"No I don't I'm just saying how I'd feel"
"Derek I'm tired it's 4am I want to go back to sleep"
"Mer"
"You keep saying my name"
"Because I don't know what to do. Your the love of my life and it feels like your leaving me"
"I'm not"
"You haven't looked at me once this conversation Mer."
For the first time since last night she looked at him really looked at him he looked beaten and broken and she understood it wasn't guilt he really hadn't done anything.
"Derek"
"Yeah?"
"Sleep with me"
She patted his spot and he crawled in next to her. But he didn't make any moves to hold her as usual as he didn't know how she would react.
"Derek?"
"Hmm?"
"Can you hold me please "
"Of course "
He brought both arms and pulled Meredith in for a much needed embrace with her back to his chest. He inhaled the sweet lavender he loved more then anything.
"I love you Derek. I didn't say it yesterday when you said it. But I love you"
"Oh Mer I love you too"
"I understood what you were saying. You didn't do anything I know that. I do. I know you would never cheat on me but it still felt like it. It felt like you wanted out and I couldn't take it." She sobbed after that confession and Derek just held her whispering soothing "shhs"
"Mer I can't leave you. I'm serious I could never leave you"
"I know"
"Ok"
"Ok"
"Sleep let's just sleep"
"Sleep"
They slept for an hour holding each other like they were each other's breath of air until Meredith got up.
"Mer stop moving so much" he groaned
"Get up please"
"What's wrong?" He said groggily
"I need you" she said rather desperately
"I'm right here Mer I'm not going anywhere" he responded not fully grasping what she meant by that statement.
"Derek"
"Hmm"
"Get up"
"Ok I'm up I'm up"
He stared into her eyes despite the darkness and she grabbed his face and kissed him. This was a kiss of need she hadn't felt him since last night. It'd been to long. He reciprocated the desperate kiss with desperation of his own he missed her. She got on top of him. Straddling him and moved to suck on his neck. He used this as an opportunity to grab her shirt and lift it above her head and unclip her bra. He sucked on her neck leaving hickeys to let everyone know she was his and only his.He dipped his head to grab her left breast and suck on it which cause her to let out a moan. He payed this same attention to her right breast before flipping them over so he was on top. He stopped a second to take off his own shirt and unbutton her pants. She grabbed his face to kiss him again. She bit his bottom lip as to punish him but sucked on it immediately after he groaned. She bucked her hips as to signal she was ready. She really wanted this. Needed it. He removed her panties and and his boxer and entered her without warning which caused her to moan out. He stayed positioned in her motionless to let her adjust. He started moving at a painfully slow pace to prolong both there pleasures.
"Derek please"
"Hmm" he replied while nipping at the skin on her neck

He picked up his pace which caused her to moan again loudly. He grunted and groaned in her ear which made her hotter than she already was. Her orgasm had rushed over her again and again and again. It seemed taking a night off from each other made them sex crazed. Derek was about to release but he wanted Meredith to experience this high with him so he used his left hand to play with her nipple and the other to stroke her clit.
"Fuck Derek" she moaned
He continued this for a few minutes until they both released and he pumped a few more times before sliding out of her and pulling her in to hold her.
They didn't say anything either of them. They just held each other and tried to slow down there breathing.
"Mer?"
"Hmm?"
"What's going to happen to us.."
"What do you mean" she said sitting up
"I mean what's going through your head? I know you asking me for sex doesn't solve our problems so I want to know what your thinking"
"I think I'm ok"

She locked lips with him again and they fell asleep.

// two weeks later

"Mer come on we're gonna be late"
"Coming coming"
They were getting ready to go to one of Dereks friends parties. Since that day he had done everything to prove he wasn't out to hurt her. He only wanted Her and she believed him. So he thought

They arrived a few minutes later and Meredith made her way over to the alcohol section.
"Hey Derek what's up man"
"Mark it's good too see you how ya been?"
"Good good how are you and Mer?"
"We're ok she just still seems convinced I don't love her"
"I'm so sorry man. The way I see it everyone important in her life has either died or disappointed/disappeared on her and your something special and she saw you kiss another woman" he shrugged
"Yeah I understand that but I didn't kiss her she kissed me and Mer knows that"
"I'll be praying for you but you might want to go check that out"
He pointed to Meredith who was standing on a table with a bottle of tequila.
"Yeahh thanks man"
"Mer what are you doing"
"I'm daaaanciing wooo"
"Mer get down your gonna fall"
"No I'm not"
He reached up and grabbed her arm and helped her down.
"Your such a buzzkill"
"Mhm"
She walked away from Derek and started flirting with a random guy Derek was heated but figured this may be what she needs to feel better. That was until she leaned over and kissed him. He walked over and grabbed Merediths arm and led her out of the building.
"Mark thanks for the invitation but we got to go see you!"
He was seething he was so mad but he stayed quiet while Meredith didn't even seem the least bit remorseful. She sat in the backseat quiet.
Once they arrived home she avoided him and went upstairs which he followed.
"Meredith what the hell was that? Are you serious? Are you really serious right now? I've done nothing but try and be perfect for you because you deserve it and you do this why? To hurt me? Do you honestly believe I kissed that girl still??" He yelled he was so angry but he never yelled
"You don't like it huh? Seeing the love of your life kiss another person? Yeah I know the feeling" she yelled back
"Last week we we're ok.. you said you needed me that you understood and we held each other what happened between then and today "
"Well people lie" she bit back angrily
"That's it? That's all you have to say Meredith.."
No response
"I cannot believe this.. I'm gonna go sleep at a hotel or something I can't do this."he said with a tear streaming down his face
"Maybe you should" she looked down she didn't want this but she was still so angry at him as unrealistic as she was being she was still so mad. It wasn't until Derek left the room and house without saying another word she realized for the final time he did not do anything that lady did but she had went out and kissed another man to make him jealous. She hated herself in that moment she hated herself. She cried for an hour while he was gone and when she was done she went downstairs to get the tequila in the fridge and went back up to her room. She drank half the bottle before crying herself to sleep in his pillow again.
