Chapter 58

Today was the day before intern test day and she was freaking out. Bailey had ordered them to stay home which was stupid really because now she has to stay home and think about the fact she would fail.

Which would then disappoint her mother who probably forgot she existed and then Derek would leave her because who wants to be with a failure? And then she would just cease to exist.

All of this would happen strictly because Bailey ordered she stayed home.

Derek went out to get groceries so Meredith decided she'd start studying in their room.

All these big stupid words they don't even make sense. She thought in her head. Studying would be a lot easier if half of the words didn't look like they belonged in the worlds most difficult to understand dictionary or something.

She heard Derek downstairs and she immediately became happy. They had that affect on each other it was stupid really. But it was a special stupid she enjoyed.

Derek unpacked the groceries and headed upstairs with a chocolate bear for Meredith.

"Hey you" he smiled while standing at the doorway

No response. Meredith was deep into this portion of the book reason being she was sure it would kick her ass if she didn't spend time on it.

"Mer?"

Still no response.

He looked at what she was doing and saw the pile of books on their bed.

He put the chocolate on the dresser and sat down besides her and grabbed her hands so she'd face him.

"Hi" he smiled

"Hi" she smiled back

He brushed a strand of hair from her face and gave her a kiss.

"Mm" he moaned against her lips." How's your studying going?" He said wrapping his body around her.

"Will you stop loving me if I fail? She asked with a face that said she would cry if he said the wrong thing.

"No dum dum. Plus your not going to fail" he said kissing her head

"This is hard there's so many words Derek and I don't even think their all in English" she said falling back in his arms

"You forget I'm an attending and I took this test Meredith" he whispered in her ear before gently nibbling on it.

"So that means?"

"It means I'll help you" he said kissing the back of her neck

"Derek" she giggled

"There it is I wanted to see you smile" he said kissing her neck again

"If you help me you can't be all... dereky"

"Dereky?" He asked with a head tilt and chuckle

"Yes dereky! The complimenting me and touching me you can't do that"

"But how am I supposed to act like I can't resist you? Your the most beautiful woman I've ever seen" he said wrapping his arms around her and kissing her neck again

"Derek please I'm serious we have to actually study" she said melting in his touch

"Ok" he whispered against her neck

He stood up walked behind her and pulled her back and sat in front of her.

"You know you could have just asked me to move back" she giggled

"Well I needed another reason to touch you" he winked at her

Meredith looked down at her books to hide her very red face.
