Chapter 59

I haven't seen her all day and neither had I seen her friends. But that was to be expected right? they were off somewhere freaking out together and then they were testing. But I missed her...I was used to not seeing her all the time when she started working but it was still hard. She would have called me when her test was over...unless she failed but she didn't fail she passed the question is. where is she?

I looked for Bailey because it was very likely Bailey would know the answer. I spotted her charting and took her left side.

"Bailey"

"Shepherd "

"Where are your interns?"

"You mean where is grey?" She asked looking up at me

"Bailey just answer the question "

"You answer the question"

"Yes I mean where is grey" I exhaled

"I don't know if I'm going to be completely honest. No idea" she said looking back down at her charting.

"Ok uh thank you"

Ok this was really weird had no one seen my wife and her friends?

I didn't have enough time to ponder on that though I was being paged. Massive head trauma.

After a 8 hour long surgery all I wanted was sleep. Still no word from Meredith but if they're all missing I'm confident she's ok somewhere. I checked on all my patients again before heading home.

They're were all good, stable and no infections. I headed outside to my car and drove back home. The drive back home was terrible. The fatigue I felt was overwhelming. I thought of stopping multiple times but the house wasn't far enough away for me to feel it necessary.

I made it safely however. Merediths car wasn't here. We had agreed on separate cars because she needed time to freak out with her friends and do some extra studying.

I walked through the door and called out for her just to see if maybe she was dropped off. Nothing.

I ran up the stairs and checked the rooms just in case maybe she was sleeping? Nope nothing.

So I decided I would take a shower and sleep. I took a quick shower and conditioned my hair. I slept in my ferry boat scrub pjs and no shirt.
I grabbed her pillow and inhaled her scent which calmed me down in a way I'd never imagine. I fell asleep shortly after.

It was around roughly 3:30 am? When I heard a noise. Giggling. I wasn't sure if I was hearing things or maybe I was in a dream I wasn't aware of. I sat up and looked around nothing.

But I heard something come up the stairs so I waited. Waited for something.

The door opened. Meredith.

"Derek?" She asked setting her stuff down.

"I missed you. Where have you been?" He smiled

"I'm fine I've been out " she said changing into something more comfortable

"Meredith what does out mean?"

"It means I was out" she said slipping into bed next to him

"Are you going to tell me how the intern exams went?" He said a couple inches from her face

"I passed" she whispered before kissing him

"I passed Derek!" She said wrapping her arms around him.

"You pa-you passed I knew you would pass I'm so proud of you Meredith" he said tightening his grip around her

"Thank you. We're getting our interns next week. I'm a resident now" she smiled
