once i finished talking to john b and sarah cameron about last night, i take jackson out of his crib, and softly place him on the carpet to change his diaper. i shove the soiled diaper in the genie thing.
"holy shit! jj, kiara! you guys have to see this!" john b yells.
kiara trudges into the living room, and i follow her.
john b rewinds our local news channel.
he presses play, and turns the tv up.
"breaking news: outer banks police are now on a manhunt for iris jacob "kendall" lily, who has been charged with felony child abuse, as well as assault," our news lady, jenifer smith announces, as a picture of kendall appears on the screen.
"ms. lily had been abusing her family members and several members of their community in the last town the lilies resided in. lily has been known to pose as a seventeen-year-old girl, but according to her birth certificate, is twenty-two years of age," jenifer's cohost mark flowers continues.
"lily fled mary eliza mahoney memorial hospital where her younger sister was receiving life saving medical care. she is armed and dangerous. if you see her, do not hesitate to call outer banks police."
and just then, we hear a knock at the sliding window.
we didn't realize that we weren't alone until marlee screamed.
"oh shit," john b gasps, as we all look to see kendall.
