For the past week or so, Marie had been fluctuating between feeling high and low. Sometimes she would be feeling motivated and content with what she was doing. Other days she would be feeling depressed and and not in the least bit motivated to do anything other than take care of her pups. Of course Roman, Seth and Dean noticed all of this and tried to help her through it all. They gave her as many doggy kisses and snuggles as they could (though Dean would deny it till the day he dies). All four of them spent the week watching their favorite shows and snacking while sitting in a doggy pile.
To get through the day and at least make it seem like they had been productive, Roman would get everyone up and moving in the mornings. He even started keeping a mental list of what he had to do everyday.
1. Wake mommy up(if she hides under the blanket... Take it)
2. Lead her to the room where she gives us baths(and shuts us out every other time)
3. When she's out, lead her to the food room where she makes her stinky drink *read: coffee* and fills our food/water bowls
4. Stand guard at the food room door and do not let her leave until she has food as well
5. Wait by the backdoor to go potty
6. Dog pile and watch the moving box *read: TV*
7. Make sure mommy eats at least two more times before bedtime and more potty breaks
8. Follow mommy back to bed for sleeping time
While Roman chose to keep track of their daily schedule, Seth decided that his job would be to help mommy have fun! He would start games of tug-a-war for the blanket, fetch the tv remote, hide the snacks and who can trip mommy first! By the way Seth was definitely the reigning champ of all of the said games.
For his part, Dean kept an eye on her moods and let the other to carry on with whatever they wanted to do. When Dean would notice her mood start to fall, he would hop up beside her and snuggle into her until she came out of her thoughts enough to respond by petting him or hugging him close. If she looked like she was having a really bad day, he would go and grab his plant plushy to hate with her. After all, if his plant plushy made him feel better then it would obviously make his mommy feel better!
Dog logic
After a full week of this back and forth of feeling high and low, something the three pups were doing must have been working because their momma was finally up and moving on her own! She woke up before even Raman did. She started eating more real foods and not so many snacks. She played with them when they took breaks outside. They played full games of fetch and tag, she even took the for more walks around the neighborhood! She gave them more kisses and snuggles and even more treats... Even though she claimed she shouldn't or it would make them fat... She gave'em them anyways.
Things were finally getting back to normal and the pups couldn't be more happier!
