Morning came to Marie in the form of slobber smeared on her cheek and a pup's tail smacking her above the knee repeatedly. When she thought it was safe enough, she cracked open an eye to see Seth was the slobberer, and Roman was the tail smacker. Letting out a small giggle, she quickly sat up and wrapped her arms around Seth. "Good morning to you boys too! You know it's not very nice to wake momma up like that right?" All she got in return were puppy grins, even one from Dean. Feeling strangely energized so early in the morning, Marie began to play wrestle with the pups. Lightly tapping them on the sides and rolling around the bed with them. Seth was easily the most excitable and ready to play. Roman was happy to play but cautious as not to hurt her. He made sure his playful nips were with just his lips and not his teeth. Dean also played a bit but you could tell he was more cautious of her and her movements than of his own. After 10 minutes or so all four of them were tired and layed out in bed once again. "Ok so maybe it's still a little too early for this much fun, huh boys?" To which all three pups gave a bark in agreeance.
"Food," Dean stated out of nowhere. "What?" Roman asked, unsure if he heard right. "Food. I'm hungry." Roman could only stare back at the other pup not exactly sure how to respond to that. "Well let's wake her up again!" Seth interjected from where he was still laying down in the bed. After they had enough fun earlier, Marie and the pups fell back asleep. With food in mind, Seth took a big leap and landed on Marie's stomach. She let out an "oomph" noise before grabbing at her stomach and wondering what just happened. "What the hell!" She shouted surprised by the rude awakening. Looking around she realized it must have been one of the pups. "Alright, you little heathens, which one of you just tried to flatten me like a pancake!?!" The only response she got from the three was them all looking in different directions like neither of them was the culprit. Marie just sighed before getting out of bed and heading for the kitchen. "Well come on boys! Don't just sit there. It's time to eat!" And with that, all three pups took off running.
Marie quickly grabbed the dog food and filled their bowls before making sure they all had enough water as well. When she was done she watched them happily chowing down for a bit before she realized just how hungry she herself was. With that in mind, she pulled out some bread along with some cheese, ham slices, and two eggs. She doesn't normally eat eggs unless she is the one who makes them. There's just something about the way they taste if done by anyone else. As she was waiting for the eggs to finish cooking she began to unwrap the ham slices. As soon as she opened the bag, all three of the pup's heads popped up. They then proceeded to give her the puppy eyes. "No. You guys just ate! If I keep feeding you like yesterday, you're gonna get fat. Then I'll have three huge pups waddling around." They continued to give the puppy eyes while looking between her and the ham in her hand. Seth even added a little begging whine to the mix. "God, I'm such a pushover!" She shouted out loud before ripping the ham into pieces and feeding them evenly to the pups. She had to put Dean's slices to the side for him to eat as he still wouldn't take it from her hands yet. "Here you go Deano. Eat up!" She stated as she made sure the pups were ok before getting started on finishing making her food. When she was finished cooking she cleaned everything up before grabbing her plate and heading to the living room couch. Before she sat down she opened up the back door to let them out to potty first. She decided since the weather was good today that she would leave it open so they could come and go as they pleased for now.
By the time Marie had finished her food, the three pups had done their business and were now just running around the back yard. Sometimes they would play wrestle and other times they would just laze around in the shade. Dean was busy digging holes just because while Seth kept chasing his tail. Roman, on the other hand, was sitting on the back porch watching their human. He felt like there was something off about her. Not anything bad, just something wasn't right with her. She was nice and clearly happy to have them. She made sure they were fed, and had everything they needed. She let them play and let them out to potty when they needed to. She also gave them treats when they definitely didn't need them. He wasn't exactly sure what it was but she seemed to always have an air of...lonely. No that wasn't right...miserableness. Definitely not that...Sadness. Yes. Now that felt more right. He just didn't know why. Why was their human so sad all the time? He wanted to know the answer so that maybe he could fix it. He didn't like that his human was always feeling such a way. He promised himself that from today on, he would find a way to fix his human no matter what!
