Seth, Roman, and Dean(as well as the other dogs) had been brought back into the kennel room from being outside for their daily run time. Seth and Roman decided to go lay down on one of the many raggedy rugs that had been spread out for the dogs to rest and sleep on. Dean decided to go back to his little corner on the right side of the room to take a short nap.
As they were laying down and relaxing Marie and her sister Jess were talking to one of the shelter staff members. "Hello, my name is Heather! How can I help you ladies today?" The women now known as Heather asked politely. For a moment it was quiet until Jess decided to finally be the one to answer. "My sister here is looking to adopt an animal companion. We're not exactly sure what she's looking for though." Heather smiled. "Well, that is perfectly ok! We can just take a walk through and if you see a little fellow that you are interested in getting to know then just let me know and we can arrange it! How does that sound?" Jess smiled and nodded her head while Marie sighed, "Yeah that sounds great." "Alright well if you follow me we can begin that walkthrough! We'll start in the cat room." As she turned and lead them to the cat room, Jess elbowed Marie in the side. "You could at least act like you are excited to be here!" She whisper shouted. "It's not like this is gonna kill you or anything!" Marie sighed once again. "Alright! Alright. I'll act better...jeez." By now they had reached the cat room and Heather was admittedly rambling on about what kind of cats they had and what kind of temperments they each had. "This one here is named Cali and she is our oldest pretty kitty here!" "And these two are Midnight and Blondie. They are from the same litter even though they don't look it!" "This little fellow is named Runt because...well he was the runt of his litter haha!" And on and on she went pointing out every cat that ran past her.
*15 Mins Later*
"And that's the last of 'em. Did you find one who caught your interest?" Heather asked with an excited gleam in her eyes. Marie rubbed the elbow of her opposite arm, "Well they are all great and cute little guys but uh...I don't think a cat is what I am looking for right now." Heather's smile faded, "Oh. Ok. Well uh...We still have the dogs that you can take a look at! I'm sure you'll find a furry companion there!"
