My Pups Shield Me

CH. 25

Today is Saturday. A day ment for sleeping in and relaxing or so she thought. At exactly 11 o'clock on the dot, Marie's phone started ringing. After 3 failed attempts to ignore it and hoping and praying that it goes away... She finally gave in and reached over Roman to answer it.

"This better be important or the next time I see you I'mma sic the pups on you... And not in a playful way." Marie growled angrily into the phone. "Aw come on lil sis! You know those pups love me too much to even lift their little paws. Anyways, I called because I'm coming over and I'm bringing my boyfriend." At this Marie had to take a moment to replay what Jess had just said in her head. Because surely she must have heard wrong. Surely her sister did not just state that she was bringing over a total stranger to her house, sister's boyfriend or not. "What!? Are you crazy??? No. Absolutely not happening!" Her panicked shouting woke up the pups and all three started barking and looking around for what caused her distress. Seeing nothing, the pups settled back down but kept their eyes and ears open just in case. "Aw come on Marie! It's not like he's actually a stranger to you. You've talked briefly on one of our FaceTimes before right?" Marie sighed. "If by briefly you mean he popped up in the background to say hey before leaving for work then yeah sure we met briefly. That does not in anyway make us not total strangers though! And why are you bringing here. To. My. House." She made sure to emphasize it being her house in hopes that it would remind her sister that she never even bothered to 1 ask her permission and 2 that this is her safe zone... Not that either of those matter to Jess as she was soon to find out. "Well then this'll be a great chance for you two to properly meet! Besides, he loves dogs so I promised him he could meet the puppers. That and dogs are a great judge of character so if they meet him and hate him then I'll know to cut my losses early and go ahead and dump him!" Marie found herself sighing yet again. If she denied her sister... She'd come over uninvited at another unexpected date. At least if she agreed to this visit she would have a bit of for warning. "Fine! Be here no earlier then 3 and y'all better be leaving by 5 if not sooner or I'll happily kick you both out myself... And bring dinner!" She quickly hung up the phone before Jess could reply only to lay back in bed. Marie sighed. "This means I have to clean up... and actually look human for once Deano" She stated as she scratched behind his ears. Dean just tilted his head and gave a questioning bark. "You're right boy. That means I have to actually crawl out of bed first." Dean still had no clue what she was saying but gave another bark in reply while Seth and Roman hopped out of bed and headed to the door. Marie gave one last sigh(definitely a lie) and made her way out of bed to actually be productive and get some things done before Jess gets here. Dean happily following her.
