It has been a few weeks since Marie had blown up on Jess. Life moved on almost like it never even happened. The only noticeable difference was that Marie finally got to sleep in, wear comfy clothes around the house and wasn't being told she would get fat every time she ate something with sugar in it. The pups of course we're a great distraction. Anytime she started to think to long on what had happened, the pups would be there to drag her out of her thoughts. Seth would beg her to play or go for walks around the neighborhood. (That's how she finally met one of her neighbors... He thought she had just moved in and was all too happy to greet a 'new neighbor'). Roman would follow her around the house just to keep her company. Always there to remind her she wasn't ever truly alone. Dean, not to be out done, would bring her 'gifts' from around the house and whenever they went on walks. Of course she happily kept them all in a display corner in the living room. It currently consists of three shiny rocks, five of her hair ties, a chewed up baseball and a homemade friendship bracelet(clearly the friendship wasn't that important if it was originally located near the park trash can). Although she hates the thought of touching dirty things with mysterious origins, Marie would never deny or throw any of his gifts for her away. How could she when he always looked so proud when presenting it to her. Not to mention, how utterly happy he got when she added it to the display corner.

Now all this isn't to say she doesn't miss her sister. Jess is all she has left of her family. She misses her just like any other sibling would if they went away for a while. Does she regret sending her sister away? Yes. No... Maybe. Deep in her heart, Marie knows that what she said needed to be heard by Jess. Not only so that she would back off of her a bit but also for Jess's own well being. For years Marie has let her sister get away with nearly everything. Now she has finally called her out on her actions. And yeah, she feels a bit bad about it. To be honest though, she's happy she finally said something. She could feel her relationship with Jess slipping through her fingers day by day, week by week, year by year. Well not any longer! Jess can either grow up and fix what she has become or she get lost for good. Would she miss her if Jess really chose to stay away? Yes of course! But in the end she has hope for her older sister. She might have changed over the years and she might have become overbearing, but she has always shown her love and care for Marie... Even if it was unwanted or needed most of the time. She still has some hope that one day Jess will come back and be the older sister she has missed for all these years.
