Getting the pups and all the new purchases into the house was harder than it should have been. Marie tried to quickly open the door to let the pups in and explore while Jess grabbed most of the bags. She ran back outside to help bring in the rest while Jess opened the back door to let the pups out for a potty break in the enclosed yard. She then started to help Marie with unloading all the bags and organizing everything. "I'm staying to make dinner tonight but then I need to head back home so I can get to bed for work in the morning" Jess informed me as she set the last dog bowl on the floor with water in it. "Ok, that's fine. I was just gonna throw a pizza in the oven and call it a night." Marie replied as she went to call the pups back into the house. "Figures." Jess huffs out only slightly annoyed before continuing on, "I'm gonna get started on the pasta, and then I'll work on the tossed salad. Why don't you give the pups a tour of the place?" "Sounds good! What they can't just walk around and explore on their own?" Marie asked as she got up to do it anyways.
"Ok pups! Over here is the living room and that's the kitchen. This way is the guest bathroom and where you will receive baths. This is my room and bathroom. And finally, this is the guest room which is off-limits to you boys ok?" Marie asked as she finished giving them the tour. Jess huffed, "That took less than 5 minutes!" She complained as she was pouring the noodles into the now boiling water. "Well, it's a small house what do you expect!" Marie replied, "Besides it's not like they know what I'm saying or really care. They'll just explore it when they are ready and figure it out as they go!" Marie finished with a huff. Jess just rolled her eyes as she started cleaning the vegetables for the salad. With that being said Marie headed to her room for a minute.
"So what do you think of our new home?" Seth asked, excitedly wagging his tail. "It's nice. Kinda reminds me of my old man's place." Roman replied with a casual tone of voice. "What about you Dean?!" Seth asked, now jumping up and down. Dean sniffed, "S'not that bad I guess." What he really meant was, "This is a hundred times better than that piece of trash I used to live at. I got a roof over my head and a grassy yard to roll around in!" Just as he finished that thought Marie returned dressed in her pajamas now. She hopped onto her spot on the couch and turned on the tv. "Alright, boys! Who wants to snuggle!?" She asked as she raised her arms out invitingly. At that, all three pups came running trying to find the best spot. Seth has gotten bumped out of the way by Roman who was the biggest of the three so he ended up on Marie's left while Roman was on her right side. Dean got the best spot of all by pushing Roman off and claiming Marie's lap. He happily curled up till he was comfy and then laid his head down on his front paws. "Hey, that's not fair!" Seth whined while Roman gave a shrug in reply and a small annoyed huff at Dean. "Yeah well guess what dummy? Life's not fair!" Dean barked out before chuckling and laying back down. Seth just huffed and snuggled up more to Maire's side. Marie chuckled, "No fighting boys. Mamma's got room and love for all her pups!" She assured before wiggling to get comfy before grabbing the remote and flipping channels to find the best movie to watch.
It had been about 15-20 minutes when Jess said that the food was almost done and that they could eat when it was finished and had cooled down a bit. In the meantime, Marie and the pups continued to watch the movie while she took turns petting and scratching them behind the ears each.
