I followed him to the living room and we sat down on the couch. Demi was no where in sight.

"Where's Demi?" I asked.

"Shower" he smiled.

"So, what do you wanna talk about?" I asked, a little awkwardly.

"Yeah, so, Demi told me that you'll be leaving soon, right?"

"Yep. Tomorrow or the day after that. Not sure yet"

"She also told me that you opened up a little"

I nodded, as I looked at the floor.

"Hey, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's good. We're happy"

"I can't believe I did that. She wasn't supposed to know all that" I blurted out.
Dammit, I did it again. He wasn't supposed to know it, either.

"Why?"

"Just because"

"There's nothing wrong with telling people how you feel. Even if you're not feeling great. You know, me and Demi promised each other, when we got married, that every night before we go to bed, we tell each other how we're feeling. We tell each other what's going on in our mind. How our day went. What went wrong. What we want to do better tomorrow. And just how we feel. Whether it's happy, sad, mad, disappointed, excited, confused, you name it, we tell each other. It's a very good way of getting things off your chest. Of dealing with stuff that's bothering you. Sometimes it is embarrassing. When you feel like you're stupid for feeling a certain way, but you have the right to feel any emotion that you want. It's your life, it's your journey. And if someone's gonna judge you, then, of course, you shouldn't talk to that person. But I can promise you that neither me, nor Demi, will ever judge you. No matter what you're feeling, thinking, doing, whatever it may be, we will never judge you. We will always be here for you. Whether you want to talk or you just want to spent time with Corey. Even if you just want to sit on the couch and stare at the ceiling, you're always welcome. We love you, Amelia. And we always will. I know things are dark for you. You lost all you had, your life is suddenly turned upside down, but we'll do our best to help you. You may not be part of our family officially, but you are definitely a part of it. You have found a place in our hearts and you'll stay there for ever. No matter what happens, you're engraved in it"

I looked him in the eye, to see some kind of a sign that this was all a joke, but it wasn't there. He was being dead serious.

"I don't know what to say" I finally replied.

"So don't say anything. Just promise me that you'll be okay. Promise me that you'll go back there to the family and try your best to be okay. Promise me that even if we won't see you again, that you'll call us when you need help. When something is wrong. When you just wanna hear Corey's voice. Promise me that you'll let people help you. That you won't bottle everything inside and that you'll tell someone how your feeling"

"I can't promise that"

"Can I ask you a favor?"

"I guess"

"I get that you don't wanna tell someone how you feel, but can you at least write it down? Every night, before you go to sleep, just write it down. It doesn't have to be a whole story. It can only be just one sentence. Just one word. Whatever you want. Just write something down. Nobody has to see it. Just for yourself"

"I think I can do that"

"I'm very proud of you, Amelia. Now go to sleep, it's late" he sent me to bed.
I gave him a hug and went to sleep, dreading tomorrow.

"Bye Amelia" Corey waved one last time, as I left their house.
Demi stood behind him, wiping away her tears. Which was useless, cause they kept on coming down.
Drake was bringing me back and Demi was staying home with Corey. I decided to go today and not tomorrow, cause I just couldn't take it anymore. They make me feel so loved, like I belong there. It would just be harder to leave, if I stayed one more day. I don't think I'm ever gonna see them again, though. I had this feeling that this was the last time.
Demi felt it too. I could see it in the way she said good bye to me. She was, of course, crying, but I could feel that this was different then other times. This was the last time.
She made me promise to keep in touch. And I did. I wanted to keep in touch with them. I loved them.

"Amelia. Why today?" Corey asked.

"Cause I have to go, buddy. I have to go back to the family"

"Can't you stay a little longer?" he whined.

"I'm sorry" I hugged him, as he started crying.
Demi entered the living room and knew right away what was going on, so she started crying too.

"Promise me to keep in touch. Promise me that you'll call or text us. Promise me you'll be okay" she cried, as she hugged me. Her grip around me was so firm, and she wouldn't let go. It was the feeling of a final goodbye.

"I promise" I whispered, as I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in her stomach.

"We're gonna miss you, you know?" Drake broke the silence in the car.
I knew he also felt it.

"I know. I'll miss you too" I tried to not let my tears fall.

"Don't hesitate to contact us, Amelia. We're here for you"

I just nodded. I couldn't talk anymore. It's too much for me.
The rest of the drive was silent, except for the muffled sound of the radio.

"Stay strong, baby. I love you" he said, as I opened my car door to get out.

"I love you, too" I bit my lip, keeping in my sobs.
He pulled me into his embrace and held me tightly.
We were like that for a few minutes, till he let go and looked me right in the eye.

"Keep hanging in there. Everything will turn out fine. Call us when you need anything. We will never let you down. I love you so much" he kissed my forehead and smiled at me, as his eyes filled up with tears. He never let them fall, though.

"Thank you" I whispered.
He shuffled a little and pulled a little notebook out of his pocket.

"Amelia, this is nothing special or big, but I'm giving you this, for you to do like you promised yesterday. To write down, every night, what you're feeling. Me and Demi wrote you a small message on the first page, just as a reminder of us. We love you so very much, sweetheart. Please, try to feel good and enjoy life" he bit his lip hard.
I nodded and gave him another wave, before getting out of the car and knocking on the front door.

Ruby opened it and greeted me with a smile.
I looked back to Drake and waved one last time, as I watched him drive away.
Out of my life.
