"Hi" he smiled, as I entered.

"Hi" I gave him a tiny toothless smile.

"So, me and Amelia were talking" he stated.

"Okay?"

"She had something to tell you"

"Okay"

"Go on, Amelia. Tell her" Drake turned to the girl who was laying on the bed.

She looked at him and then at me.
I gave her a reassuring smile, but she just kept on looking.
Her eyes wanted to tell me something, but her lips didn't budge.

"I can't" she whispered, after a few minutes of silence.

"It's okay, honey. She won't judge" Drake tried to push her a little.

"No, it's okay. If she doesn't want to, she doesn't have to" I replied fast.
I don't want her getting mad at him, as well. Soon she won't be taking to any of us anymore. And then we would've only made it worse for Ruby and Brody.

"So, how's she doing?" Ruby inquired, like a real mom would do.

"She's doing good. Corey was very happy to see her and so are we all"

"And she talked to you?"

"Yeah, she did. She didn't really open up yet, though. She just needs some more time. We shouldn't push her" I decided not to tell her that I pushed her and that she doesn't talk to me now, anymore.

"Oh, that's okay. She's still gonna be by you for the next few days, right?"

"Yeah"

"Okay, so just try then. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't. We'll have to find another way, then. But please do your best. We just want what's best for her"

"Yeah, I know you do and so do I. I'll do my best, but I'm just warning you not to be surprised if it doesn't work"

"That's totally fine. As long as she's having a good time as enjoying herself, all is fine"

I smiled at that.
She really does want what's best for Amelia.

"But it's good for her to overcome her fear, Demi. She knows I only wants what's best for her, right Amelia?" Drake complained.

"Drake, don't push it, okay? Yeah, she knows you only want what's best for her and I do, too. But sometimes people aren't ready for something, even if they know it's better for them. You shouldn't push it" I whispered the last part, cause I thought back to how stupid I was for pushing her like that.

I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"I'm going to bed. Good night, Amelia. Sleep well" I whispered, before exiting the room.

I lay down in bed and buried my face in my pillow.
Why did I have to ruin it?
Why couldn't I help her?

I heard sobs coming from her room, which was right next to mine.

"No Amelia, you didn't. She's not mad. She thinks you're mad at her and that's why she doesn't wanna make you uncomfortable" I heard Drake say.

God, now she thinks I'm mad at her.
How bad can a person screw up?

I felt a salty tear roll down my cheek, as I thought about it.
She thinks I'm mad at her.
She thinks she's done something wrong.
Why does she feel like that?
Did I act to her, in a way that made her feel I was mad?
I didn't mean to.
I'm not mad, I'm just a little upset with myself. She's done nothing wrong.

Oh poor baby, I'll make it better.
I'll keep my promise.
I'll make sure you're okay.
I'll do all I can do to help you. Even if it hurts me on the way.
