"So, want me to go in with you?" I asked, as we arrived at their house, with Amelia and Amanda.

"Yeah, that would be helpful. Can I leave the baby in the car?" she asked Peter.

"Yeah, sure. Go on and get all your stuff. I'll wait here with her"

Me and her stepped out of the car and she opened the front door.
We went inside and she started packing for her and Amanda. When she was done I got a few of her bags and put it in the car.
After everything was in, we both stepped into the car again, and Peter drove off.

"So, Amelia, you really look great" Peter complimented

"Thanks" she smiled.

"How's school going?" I asked.

"It's good. My friends aren't so careful around me anymore, which I'm happy about. It was always so awkward when they didn't know what to say, but they're back to normal again. I did make a new friend, though. My best friend. She's so amazing. Turns out, we've been in the same class since kindergarten. We went to the same schools, since we both started and we never even got to know each other. But when I went to meet Ruby's family, she was there, cause she's Ruby's cousin. She looked familiar, but I didn't know from where. We started talking and she told me when her birthday is, and I'm only a few weeks younger, so I asked her where she goes to school and yeah, you can figure out the rest. She's really the sweetest person on earth. I love her. She actually doesn't live so far away from you, Demi. I think like two streets away. I went to her house once and we passed yours. I wanted to come in a say hello, but we were in a rush, so I couldn't"

"Aww, that's a shame. We would've loved to see you. But I'm really happy to hear that you're doing okay" I smiled at her.

"Can I just ask you something?" Peter asked, "You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but I'm just curious"

"Sure"

"What made you open up? When did you decide that it was time to move on? And why? Cause last time I saw you, you barely talked, and now you're all happy and talking and joking. Not that I'm complaining, cause it's a good think, but what made you open up so much?"

"Honestly, I don't know. When I came back from Demi's house, I had this feeling that I wasn't gonna see her again for a long time. So I guess I realized, that I was gonna have to live with this family and I don't have and escape anymore. Then I don't know what made me do it, and I was surprised by it myself, but I stared talking to Ruby, Brody and Ruby's brother, all in one day. I guess once I started talking, I just started opening up. Ruby was really very supportive of me. She's really great. She would sit with me and ask me how I was doing and even if I didn't answer her, she would just hug me and tell me it was gonna be okay. Eventually, I started telling her what was going on and how I was feeling, and she knew exactly how to deal with me. And also Miranda, her cousin, helped me. Cause I met her the day after I came back from Demi, and I didn't talk to her right away, but when we started taking and becoming friends, I also had someone to talk to in school. That's when my other friends came around again, also, cause they saw that I wasn't only crying and that I could still talk to people normally. And just that I'm still a normal girl, who just went through an unfortunate situation. So, that really helped me, but mostly Ruby. She is really so great. She helped me so much and I'm so grateful. In the beginning I didn't really like her, but now I do. She really shows that she cares about me and loves me, and that was exactly what I needed. You did it, too, but I knew that I wasn't gonna stay by you. I am living with them now, so knowing that she actually does care about me, was really what made me realize that I was gonna have to move on and I couldn't blame anyone, except that shooter of course, for what happened. And that even though I miss my family, Ruby is now the only mother figure in my life and she really showed me that she didn't mind and didn't only do it for the money"

"You think she did it only for the money?" Peter asked.

"Yeah. Don't a lot of foster families only do it for the money? That's what I heard and I had a feeling that she did, too. I mean, why not? You take a kid in your home and you get money for it. Then you leave the kid to do whatever he wants and forget about him. That's what I always heard about foster parents. So I was sure they were like that, as well, but they aren't. Ruby even told me that all the money that she gets for fostering me, she uses for me and only me. Sometimes she buys some food with it, but that's also for me, cause now she has another person in the house, so she needs more food. But for the rest, it all goes to me, for clothes, shoes, school supplies, room decoration, you name it. She's really so amazing. Like, I don't even need all that stuff, but she just drags me along to the mall and starts buying things for me. So, yeah, I'm really happy now, but I'm also happy to see you again. I missed you. I can't wait to see Corey" she smiled.

"We missed you too, and I'm sure Corey will be so excited to see you" I smiled back at her.

However, I wasn't prepared for Corey's reaction to be the totally opposite of what I expected.
