Breaking the friendship

Recently I got together with the only person I ever wanted and dreamed to be with for what felt like forever. Draco Malfoy. I had him, I loved him and he loved me too.

I walked into the library and sat down. "Hey, (y/n)." Draco sat beside me.

"Hey" I said and went back to reading my book. Draco grabbed a book and placed his head on my shoulder, beginning to read too

"Heyy!" My friend Astoria came over. Instead of sitting next to me, she took a seat next to Draco. She leaned her head against his arm. "I missed you guys" she looked up and smiled.

"Yeah, me too." I said, sort of lying.

She put her stuff out to study as Draco and I continued reading our books quietly.

"You wanna go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow?" Draco asked me quietly.

But before I could answer, Astoria spoke. "You're not inviting mee??" She pouted dramatically.

"Um, well-" he looked at me and I shrugged annoyed.

"Whatever. Draco you wanna hang out with me today? I guess you'll need a little time without (y/n) being with you and following you like an annoying puppy." She began to laugh. "No offense, though" She added when nobody laughed.

I looked down, hurt and disappointed, thinking why I haven't managed to break our friendship yet.

"No, thanks. I love (y/n)'s presence." He threw an arm around me and I smiled to myself. "I can't get enough of her." He kissed my cheek and Astoria looked rather annoyed.

"Alright. Then let's hangout in the common room?" I hesitated first, but nodded afterwards.

When I stood up, Draco held my hand and smiled at me, knowing how much insecure I was. I returned the smile and kissed his hand.

"Draco!" Astoria pulled him to her. She pulled him with her to the front as I was walking in the back. "You're so adorable." She said and kissed his cheek. My breath hitched. "Calm down, (y/n)." She said as she looked back to me and saw my facial expression. "Not a big deal." She rolled her eyes. Draco tried to get out of her grip.

We arrived and I took Draco's hand. I pulled him back while Astoria continued. "Draco??" I said in disbelief.

"I'm sorry, darling." He looked at me apologetically.

"It's not your fault." I whispered and he smiled. We walked back as he was still holding my hand.

"Don't touch each other for once." She fake laughed and seperated our hands. She took him to the couch and sat down with him. After talking for a while- well, after she talked for a while, Draco stood up. "Noo, where are you going?" She tugged on Draco's wrist, pouting.

"I'm heading to my dorm. I'll go to bed." He explained, but more to me as his eyes were on mine. I nodded and he came over to me. He kissed my cheek and stayed there for a second. "Don't listen to her, I love you." He whispered in my ear quiet enough for her not to hear and I nodded. He kissed my cheek again and left.

After I was sure enough, that he left, I faced her. "I can't believe you." I said and she just smiled. "Astoria!"

"I should be the one with him, alright?! I should be the one to date him, to be his girlfriend. You don't even deserve him!" She bursted out all of sudden.

"You always make it about you" I raised my voice and stood up, pointing with my index finger at her.

"Well, I was the one, who wanted him first!"

"You switch from one guy to the other. You play with them. You never loved him and still don't do so, Astoria." I stopped, raising my index finger again, ponting at her. "You try to have him. You try to steal him from me. I can't believe you."

"You don't deserve it." She repeated.

"What?" I asked in disbelief, huffing. "You know what" I stood up. "I think we just shouldn't be friends anymore." I made my way to the stairs.

"You can't do that!" She freaked out. I knew she didn't want to be friends either. She just wanted to be friends with me, so that she could be closer to Draco.

I walked into Draco's dorm and closed the door, my back still against it. Draco's eyes shot to me. He was already in bed with his pyjamas, his hair messy. I couldn't take my eyes off him, he looked so adorable.

"I did it." I said quietly as I walked towards him. He smiled widely and opened his arms, pulling me down next to him. "You did it? I'm proud of you." He smiled and kissed my hair as he held me closely.

I've been trying to tell Astoria, that I don't wanna be her friend for so long, but I never really managed to do so. Draco encouraged me most often and never said anything, because I told him, that I wanted to manage to do it all on my own.

"I love you." He whispered and kissed my cheek, followed by a long kiss on my forehead.

"I love you too." I whispered as his lips stayed there. His lips still on my forehead ever so slightly, I fell asleep in his warm embrace.
