The cold wind blew hair strands out of my face as I sat on the cold grass, my hand resting on it only softly, gently. My back against a tree, the black lake in sight, shimmering in the moon's light, and the waves flowing, making calming noises. The silent night comforted me.
I stroked Draco's soft blond hair as his head was on my lap, eyes closed exhaustedly. He looked worn out mostly and seeing him collected, lifted a heavy weight off my shoulders.
He looked rested and carefree for once, what else would I want in the world?
I continued stroking his hair leisurely. He opened his eyes slowly and weakly.
"Will we ever be able to be happy?" He asked me, whispering, and looked at the dark circles under my eyes lovingly. I held his gaze, but moved my head up to look to the front thoughtfully. "I mean, truly happy."
"I don't know." I shrugged as I gazed into the long, dark and gloomy distance. A long silence followed, a heart warming one. One, where the only feelings in the air were love and relief, yet also loneliness for an exceptional and unexplainable reason. For once, the feelings storming us weren't pure anxiety and fear.
My hand moved down to his cheek, stroking it gently.
"I have nobody but you." I whispered.
"And I have nobody but you."
I looked down and the corner of his lips went up a little. "Promise me one thing, please. We'll stay together until the very end."
"Until the very end." He said lowly.
The unexplainably felt loneliness wasn't because we only had each other. In fact, it was because the only thing that was missing was our happiness, which was due to the death eaters pressuring us with everything. A happy end, something we'd hopefully get one day.
Until the end, it is me and him only.
