Yet again, Draco had zoned out, chin resting on his palm as my eyes were on him. I watched him in the great hall, in classes, in the hallways and since I liked him a lot, I was absolutely concerned about his this year changed behavior.

He's a death eater was the rumor.

—————

I was sitting next to him in Potions and my eyes would always wander to him, which didn't go unnoticed.

"Why are you looking at me?" He asked not so pleased.

"Um" I said nervously. "Not so important." I mumbled, turning back to my cauldron, embarrassed.

————-

After a few days of not being able to keep my eyes off him, he pulled me to the side on my way to my next class.

"What are you trying to do?" He asked me frantically.

"Nothing. You just seem to be a little down and I thought-"

"Don't think, then."He cut me off coldly. "I'm fine, you can leave me alone now." He said harshly and in a hurried tone before walking off, leaving me in the cold hallway.

————-

I was sitting in the great hall, eating my lunch and Draco was not there. That was until he walked in, his eyes on Katie Bell and Harry. And just like that, he walked back out after Harry had looked at him.

I stood up and decided to follow Draco. I walked down the cold, empty and quiet hallways, trying to find him. Hearing muffled noises from the boys bathroom, I made my way there. And as I entered, I spotted him in front of a mirror, his grip tightly on a sink, head down, wand in his hand.

He was crying quietly.

"Draco?" I whispered and he turned around fast.

"Why are you here?" He spat once he realized who I was, trying to nog show his emotions.

"You do not look like you're fine." I whispered worriedly.

"I'm totally okay. Leave."

"No. You- you- look at you! I've heard of the rumor. You don't deserve this. You're not a bad person. I know you're not. Please, please let me help you, Draco." I asked, standing in the distance, eyebrows furrowed in hope.

"Stop!" He shouted out of sudden, making me flinch. "Stop trying to help me! I'm not good, so stop trying to convince yourself I were! You cannot do anything about it, you hear me?! There's absolutely nothing you can do about it, nothing!"

"But everyone deserves to be loved. Everyone deserves love-" I told him, voice shaking slightly, but he cut me off, not letting me finish.

"I'm supposed to kill people, I hurt people, I don't deserve help, do you understand?! I'm bad. I'm nothing but bad and there is no excuse to say otherwise!" He shouted in absolute anger, walking towards me while I walked backwards, my back hitting the wall behind me as I looked at him in fear. He threw his wand aside.

"I'm a filthy death eater, you hear me?!" He yelled as he slammed his fist right next to my head and on the wall, his face close to mine. "I deserve nothing." He spat through gritted teeth in absolute anger, his voice now lower, his eyes piercing my eyes, face dangerously close to mine. "Nothing." He whispered as my hands shook under his gaze slightly. His chest was going up and down in a quick pace as he just stared at me.

He closed his eyes slowly, eyebrows furrowed as the anger on his face disappeared, now replaced by complete despair. The hand he had on the wall sank.

He was crying.

I was still breathing anxiously as I watched him. His eyes were just closed and I heard him sob, which made my heart shatter. Wrapping my arms around him slowly and carefully, I slid my hands to his back and placed his head on my shoulder, readjusting our postures. He let me do it, which caught me off guard.

I heard another quiet sob come from him and felt a few of his tears on my neck. Placing my hand softly on the back of his head, I began to stroke his hair as my other hand rubbed his back.

"I'm not worth it." He whispered, voice breaking. He shook his head no against my shoulder. "I'm really not, (y/n). Why are you doing this?"

"Because I like you, Draco." I whispered and felt him lift his head slowly. He looked me in the eyes with his now red ones, which were reflecting nothing but pure dejection. I had never seen him this broken. "I like you a lot." I repeated.

He put his hand on my cheek carefully, softly, eyes wandering on my face. "A death eater." He reminded me.

"I know and I don't care." I tilted my head slightly

"I want to love you too." He whispered.

"Well, we've got time." I smiled and for the first time, I saw him genuinely smile.

He wrapped his arms around me again, hugging me even tighter now. "What did I do to deserve you." I heard his voice muffled against my shoulder.
