Luna rushed home after that.
She found herself standing right beside the time machine in literal shock, not knowing what to do now that the entire team was gone and moving forward with the plan.
Standing there by herself was only making her crazy, and being inside the entire facility was making her go out of her mind.
So instead of waiting for them to come back, Luna wanted nothing more than to go home and just wait it out over there. It was her chance to clear her mind by trying to remind herself that the Avengers had everything under control. The best Luna could do was leave everything up to them in the best way she knew how instead of putting her nose where it didn't belong.
Luna's thoughts were spiraling as she busted through her front door, pacing back and forth before finally calming herself down.
She was too impatient, excited even.
The girl needed to do something. She needed to get all of this off her chest and tell somebody.
The perfect person who came to mind was Ned. Luna promised that she would tell him everything he needed to know, and not that she finally had a chance to, she didn't waste another second.
It didn't take long for Ned to answer his phone, and once he did, Luna instructed him to meet her at the park as soon as possible. He agreed right away, and Luna was out the door once again.
The park was a ghost town as usual.
It was quiet in the streets like it normally was, but Luna didn't pay attention to any of that as she anxiously waited at a bench table for Ned to show up. There were so many things she wanted to tell him.
"What's up? Are you okay?" Ned urgently asked once he came and rushed over to the girl. "Are you in trouble?"
"Everything's okay." Luna quickly told him as she stood up.
"Then what is it?" Ned threw out his arms. "It sounded important."
"It is." Luna nodded her head, her voice quick and alert. "It's completely insane but I just really need you to stay calm."
Ned furrowed his eyebrows as Luna swiftly dragged him over to the bench she was sitting on, the two of them taking a seat across from each other.
"What's going on?" Ned was impatient.
Luna looked around as if she was expecting someone to be eavesdropping, but the park was completely empty as she scanned the entire place. She turned back to face the boy, biting her lip.
"It's happening, Ned." She reached out and grabbed his hand. "It's really happening."
"What's happening?" Ned was worried. "You're really scaring me here, Luna."
