Something clicked in Luna Pearce's mind.
The girl suddenly felt the strong urge to put her thoughts into action. It was exactly what she was planning to do as she woke up bright and early, immediately jumping in the shower and getting dressed.
Luna wanted to be out the door as soon as possible, so she didn't waste too much time throwing on some clothes or doing her hair.
"Hey," Shannon weakly smiled as Luna walked into the kitchen. The woman glanced at the watch resting on her wrist, a curious look on her face. "Where are you going this early?" She asked, noticing that Luna was fully dressed. It was obvious how stressed Shannon was. She was currently on her second cup of coffee as she tried figuring out what to do about work after her job temporarily shut down right after everything happened.
"I have some stuff to take care of." The brunette replied, grabbing her bag on the table.
"I can make you some breakfast if you want." Shannon sat up from the stool near the counter. "You want some eggs? Maybe some toast?"
"I'm good." The brunette declined. "I'll be back later."
"Luna," Shannon stopped the girl before she was able to leave. A concerned look was planted on her face as the teenager stared at her. Shannon wasn't convinced that Luna was making progress with everything. "Are you okay?" She had to ask.
Luna just looked at the woman for a moment before sighing.
"I'm fine." The girl said. "Really, you don't have to worry."
"I'm your mom." Shannon clearly stated. "It's my job to worry."
She sighed as Luna stood quiet. The woman didn't want to force anything on her, but she didn't know how Luna was still handling all of this.
"I know you're going through a hard time." Shannon provided some comfort. "Everyone is." She told her. "I just don't want you putting yourself in dangerous situations where you're in some sort of trouble-"
"Mom," Luna was quick to shake her head. "I'm fine. I'm not in any trouble."
"I'm just saying," Shannon weakly shrugged. "The world is in chaos right now, and people are starting to do some pretty stupid things."
The teenager completely understood. It was all over the news now. Everything that the world was currently going through was being broadcasted for every single individual to see. The remaining half of the population were confused and terrified of what the future held. There were even people who started looting and breaking every law out there. It was insane.
"You would tell me if you weren't okay right?" Shannon questioned. "It's okay if you aren't."
"Yes, I would tell you." The girl was starting to get impatient as she glanced at her phone, noticing that Happy had messaged her saying that he was waiting outside. "I'm sorry, I really have to go."
