It was Halloween night in Queens, the time when the city was more packed than usual, when kids would go trick or treating and when teenagers snuck booze into parties while dressed in ridiculous costumes.
Every year Luna avoided doing anything on Halloween. She didn't find any interest in it, but here she was standing in the center of her bedroom as she stared at the costume that was on her bed. She nervously chewed on her fingernail as she debated on whether or not she would put it on.
It wasn't even her decision to get dressed up at all, but Aubrey was really excited to spend this night together, so the brunette had no other choice but to wear a costume.
It was a simple one that just consisted of a black dress with black shoes that would be finished off with a red cape that would tie around Luna's neck and flow around her body.
She was going as little red riding hood.
It was the only thing she could think of, but she was grateful it wasn't too over the top.
Luna could already hear the commotion going on outside of her apartment building, the laughs and cheers of kids that were too excited to stuff their pillowcases with candy.
Everyone usually went to the rich neighborhoods for the good stuff. It was much more preferable to trick or treat in suburban areas with large homes with wealthy people instead of the busy streets of Queens that only had apartment complexes.
The teenagers didn't even have any specific plans for the night, but Luna just decided to go with whatever they wanted to do in hopes she would actually have a good time.
Aubrey and MJ showed up a half hour early, both of them dressed in their own costumes. Aubrey was a witch, the girl wearing a smokey red skirt with a mix of black along with a tight corset with a sharp v-line. Her bright red lips and red hair tied everything together like always.
MJ's costume was simple, the outfit just consisting of black jeans and t-shirt with a pair of cat ears on her head and whiskers drawn on her cheeks with black marker.
"So what exactly are we doing tonight?" MJ asked.
Luna shrugged. "Alex said he has something planned. He should be here any minute."
Aubrey couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"I still think we should've gone to that Halloween party." The redhead sighed as she crossed her arms. "He better have planned something fun to do."
"I don't care what we do." MJ groaned. "I'm just here because you guys forced me to come. I rather be at home."
"Doing what?" Aubrey gave her a knowing look. "Homework?"
"I'm not that pathetic." MJ glared at her. "I just don't like Halloween. It's for kids."
Aubrey huffed as she dramatically stomped her foot on the ground.
