Feeling out of place was something Peter Parker was always used to, especially when he first started high school.

He was a nerd, and everyone knew it. Him and Ned were the outcasts of Midtown. They didn't have many friends other than each other, and they weren't involved in any sports or extracurricular activities besides the academic decathlon. It was safe to say that Peter didn't belong with any of the social cliques, but he honestly didn't care.

Peter never minded being an outsider. It was just who he was and he learned to accept it.

After becoming Spider-Man, the boy felt even more out of place than he did before he was bitten. He was able to do all these things that weren't even possible for him before, and that scared him beyond belief. Peter was smarter, stronger, and more enhanced than any average human being. He thought it was some kind of curse to be this way, but after a while of completely freaking out by trying to figure out what was going on with him, Peter learned what had happened to him, and he accepted his new identity.

Being the crime fighting vigilante that swung all over the city gave him a new profound happiness. He loved helping people and saving them in times of need. He felt that it was his true calling to become the person he did. There was so much evil in the world, and the boy thought to bring a little light into it by being there for anyone who needed his help.

Peter loved his job.

He was an Avenger, a hero who sacrificed his life to save as many people as he could. That's what all of the heroes did every single day of their lives. It was just a part of who they were.

However, Peter never thought he would ever go through something as traumatic as he did. He couldn't bring himself to forget about the events that happened with Thanos. The memories haunted him. Peter couldn't get away from the thoughts in his mind as he kept picturing what the heroes had to face.

Peter could vividly remember being face to face with Thanos as the demigod called him an insect. The boy could still feel his large hands wrapped around his neck as he choked him, slamming his body on the hard grounds of Titan.

He remembered when he almost got the gauntlet away from Thanos' hand as Quill punched him senselessly for killing Gamora, only for the evil being to regain strength and prevent Peter from taking it.

They couldn't do it.

Peter knew they had lost the second the Guardians started disappearing right in front of him, and when he felt himself starting to fade away, he knew that it was over. The boy was scared, the most terrified he's ever been. His life was flashing right before his eyes as he looked at Tony who held him as he disintegrated into thin air. Peter would never forget that terrifying moment as he felt himself die, looking into Tony's eyes and being his last memory before vanishing.
