"Y-your highness, is there anything I can do for you?"

Embarrassed, I quickly wiped my tears with the sleeve of my hoodie and blinked a couple of times before looking back at the screen.

blues narrowed upon seeing me. He shushed for a while as though waiting for me to be more comfortable facing him. I waited in silence and kept my eyes away from his scrutiny. I'm not sure why he needs to talk to me... but his timing isn't really proper. I'm in the middle of sulking over my relationship with his 'kind'. I don't think I have the guts to even respond with me being this completely jaded.

"I know...things aren't looking well between you and Wintour."

He started off. I just listened carefully... his voice was endearing... a complete contrast to how he is being known for.

"I spoke to him before calling you and you know what? Just like you, he is nothing but crestfallen."

What he said just brought tears to my eyes again. Of course he's hurting too... why not? Everyone's against us... against what we have.

"I called just to let you know that what's happening right now isn't probably the real thing yet. (Sighs) well, too bad you've fallen for a royalty. But you know what's worse?..."

I looked at the screen to see a concerned looking prince;

"W-what is it, your highness?..."

He chuckled and sucked his teeth before responding.

"Well, that royalty you've fallen in love with is the future king of France."

I looked away. I'm already quite aware of that... is he going to remind me that this relationship should stop? Well... I'm sure he will. He's royalty too. What should I expect? 

But...

"Also... that future king of France loves you so bad, to the extent that he's very much willing to step away from his destiny...just to build a future with you. A country's downfall over his happiness."

What he said completely surprised me.

"W-what?..."

He smiled.

"You see Martina, you're not the problem here nor France. It's your man."

He sighed and crossed his arms.

"He needs to realize his value and everything will fall into place. Give him time... please don't feel discouraged with his little mistakes. He's in a phase where he's still learning how to properly function wearing a diadem. Learning to act like one... learning about himself as a ruler. Learning to tame a country...
