I spent time with Maks just talking about a lot of things...until the guests began to leave the palace one by one. In between our conversations, there are times that I would drift and he'd pull me back to reality. I can't stop thinking about Madame Simone.

What was she like...

How did she become like this.

Yes, I can see... the situation wasn't worth it.

I was told by Maks that Yeonjun had to fly back to Denmark for an urgent reason that's why he begged Maks to look after me. He knew I'd be alone again and needed someone to accompany me.

Just like the last time, when we were in York.

I also learned that Yeonjun told him a few things about me. Maks learned how I was able to tangle with the ever popular J.Wintour. He's also aware of my abandonment and about Lily.

"I have an older brother too. But we're not that tight. I'm somehow closer to the Russian prince. He's more fun than my brother."

I smiled.

"I'm sure he cares for you."

He shrugged;

"Of course he does. He's an overprotective brother. A very strict one. He monitors my grades and academic related activities. He wants me to be better than him...like he's almost perfect. How is that even possible. Tsk."

I smiled;

"Well, at least he's after your welfare. My sister didn't actually care about me. You're lucky Maks."

"Yeah whatever. So, do you feel better and did you somehow comprehend the message that I was trying to send you?"

I eyed him a bit confused. Was it the...

"I meant madame Simone. You see what kind of a future you're building for yourself?"

Once again, the pain...

"Y-yes."

He grunted at the way I responded. Probably because my answer was uncertain.

"Look Martina. I believe you can do better things for yourself... if you need help, I guess Yeonjun and I can help you out. Don't waste your freedom with a future that is not guaranteed."
