"It is the protocol, your highness."

I sighed in resignation as my standing advisor, Cecil, suddenly appeared in our villa. She was bringing a couple of documents that I should review and of course the royal obligations that I will be attending to.

"I thought remote assistance is possible?"

I asked and somehow failed to conceal the disappointment in my voice. Ms. Cecil remained calm despite openly showing my distaste over the situation. She linked her hands together and smiled before responding;

"Your highness, at some situations, it might be possible. But you have several obligations abroad that needed my assistance."

I lingered my eyes on her while I contemplate...

In French, we conversed;

"Your highness, you don't have anything to worry about, my presence won't be a problem and I assure you of that. Also I will be accommodated to the Royal French villas. I will only come when I'm needed."

As though she read my mind, she quickly conveyed her thoughts.

"I see. Well then, I see no problem."

She slightly bowed at my response.

Along with Cecil, a few French royal staff were around. I'm just glad that the ones she took with her, are the ones I can rely on and somehow the types who wouldn't betray me.

While in the middle of discussing other things that involve my obligations, my baby girl dashed inside the room...

Completely shook, she wasn't able to say anything for a while...

She politely greeted everyone.

I signaled her to sit at a corner while I deal with the French. Ms. Cecil only smiled at her and none of them opposed at the idea of letting my girlfriend stay in the middle of our discussion.

Martina silently watched...
