I couldn't touch nor comfort her. She didn't want me to. So I just told her everything. What she needed to know and what went wrong.

I, J.Wintour never apologizes to anyone but the people truly close to me. My mom...my friends who are like brothers to me...but never to women in my life.

But this young woman is nothing like any woman...nothing like her sister.

Once again, I tried to reach out for her hand but she refused my touch.

I guess this time, I really fucked up.

"Martina... listen. I'm sorry. I apologize for making you feel this way. For not...telling you rightaway about Lily."

I linked my hands together, feeling quite tensed.

"I thought it didn't matter because it's all in the past. It has nothing to do with what we have now."

She eyed me and my heart breaks at how she looked like. Exhausted and miserable. I want to wipe the tears away, to embrace her and tell her it's alright and I'm truly sorry.

"What about her baby? Your baby."

I adjusted my weight and sighed before dropping the bomb.

"Her child's not mine."

At what I said, she stopped crying. Her eyes had the same furious glint even though the tears have stopped. Holding my breath as no words came out from her.

"Say something please."

I pleaded.

She chuckled in disbelief.

"What. Am I supposed to jump in joy because the child is not yours?... is that it?...huh..."

Once again, tears streamed her crimsoned cheeks but this time, I can sense that the pain is worse. She clutched her dress, at the part where her heart is.

"Are you happy? Does making me feel this hurt and miserable entertains you?? Oh of course. I forgot...you're entitled to push me around, confuse me, play with my feelings because I owe you my life. Am I right?!"

"Martina,"

I tried to calm her down as her voice attracted the people at the counter.
