"So that's how Cat managed to get herself completely addicted to this weird British candy." Jade explained her story to Sam who laughed at her old roommates antics.
"We still can't let her touch the stuff."
The pair continued to browse the isles, picking drinks that the girls knew them and their friends enjoyed, also putting in some Capri sun packets because she knew Cat hated alcohol.

"You know all the stories you've told all day have been about Cat." Sam pointed out and Jade blushed slightly.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jade asked defensively.
"Woah I sound like Cat." Jade thought to herself.

Sam raised an eyebrow. "Nothing just saying."

"Well maybe you should watch what you say Puckett!" Jade hissed.

"Hey what's your problem West?!" Sam asked, now a little angry at Jade's tone.

Jade sighed. "Nothing. Sorry."

"I mean it makes sense." Sam said as she grabbed another 6 pack of beers.
"You two are pretty close right?" She asked and Jade nodded silently.
"Cat used to talk about you all the time when we lived together."

Jade looked over in surprise.
"S-she talked about me?" She said in an uncharacteristically small voice.

"Yeah all the time." Sam said casually as she popped some gum in her mouth.
"Sometimes we'd talk at night about whatever." Sam began.
"Crap that was happening in school; drama that had happened that day; old stories and shit like that."
Jade 'hmm'd' in understanding, impatiently wondering when the stuff about her was gonna come up.
"And no matter what, regardless on what had happened that day, Cat would still spend at least an hour talking about you. EVERY SINGLE TIME!"

"Oh." Jade said. She didn't know what else to say. Jade had suspected Cat had feelings for her, but talking about her for hours at night with her roommate... there is literally no heterosexual explanation for that.
"What would she say about me?"
Jade wasn't sure what kind of strange stories Cat would tell about her, or how well Jade would seem in Cat's retelling. Jade also wanted to making sure Cat hadn't been chatting shit.
"Yeah that's definitely the reason." Jade told herself.

"All kinds of stuff." Sam shrugged and Jade was slightly annoyed at Sam's vagueness.

"Oh wow, please be more unspecific." Jade said angrily. Okay, she was very annoyed.

"I don't know man." Sam said defensively.
"She would gush about your hair whenever you dyed it, if you'd sung that day she wouldn't shut up for hours, she'd tell me about how much fun she had whenever the two of you hung out stuff like that."
Jade tried to quell a blush that was creeping across her face as she looked away.
"I mean for a while i assumed you two were together cause I'd never heard someone talk about a 'friend' in that way but then she told me your were dating that long haired fella."

"Hey how about we get some fireworks or something?" Jade said quickly in a desperate attempt to change the subject.

"Oooh now that sounds like fun." Sam grinned as the two went over to the counter and (totally legally) bought the drinks and went to get the fireworks.

Spencer had begun the grilling just as the sun had begun to set but there was still about an hour and half of natural light.
Freddie was chatting with Robbie about Rex, mostly asking questions like 'why?' And 'should an 18 year old boy he carrying around a puppet?' Stuff like that.

Beck, Tori and Carly were playing frisbee and Andre had brought his keyboard and was playing some gentle music for everyone with Cat sitting next to him and nodding her head and humming.
